so a project with 15 worlds would have 15 screenshots? that's a little much.

I put in like 17 screenshots for my projects. Who would make a project with 15 worlds anyway?

The most worlds I've ever seen on a project is 10 (STTB2)

Oh gods no.

People work on projects in different ways. We would be forcing people into a certain way to get things done, and this isn't a business where we have to force standards even on how we make marios. They won't like it, and we'll just be forcing them to either adapt to our standards (which is a big no-no) or make quick screenshots without giving it their all.

We want to increase the quality of projects, not butcher them. If they slow down naturally that is fine, but that will be their burden, not ours.

What about that episode called Sea Side Adventure which was by Legend-tony980? It has 20 worlds and more than 400 levels.

What is the point of this thread if people are talking about screenshots?

It is pathetic to try and stop new users from posting projects and levels, they would never learn then, were you a good designer when you started smbx? Take your time to put some logic into your answer.

God this whole thread has been an unfocused mess.

I can blame this on the OP being reallly, really vague on what it wants done. Not vague as in a retard like me can't read it, but vague as in it doesn't really nail down a point and a solution. It's all over the place and, well, follow the leader.

My point is that the level forums don't have to be flooded with levels for new users to learn about good design tips. It's getting to be a giant mess with levels being made and submitted into the subforum with level judges trying to review them all. The level judges are really hopping to get to review all the levels then move them to a subforum. It wouldn't have to be this way if new users could just take the time to study up on some design tips. And yes, I know that all the design tips are scattered around on the forums, which is why I'm thinking of creating a guide with tips for designing your first level.

And about projects, I don't mind new users putting up their projects, the problem is for their first project, they want to design a generic, 8-world episode, which is WAY too much for a newbie to try and tackle. Most simply just give up, which leaves the projects forum filled to the brim with unfinished projects. And for those who do finish, the episode usually ends up being a low-quality adventure that nobody wants to play. For your first project, you should never have more than 10 levels (That's a good rule to me).
