A beach level! 'Nuff said
Design: This level had its ups and downs with the design. There was no clash or cutoff, and there was hardly any repetition. The level was also a decent length. My complaints are that hardly any BGOs were placed. There were some pretty tricky jumps that shouldn't have been so tricky.Don't get me wrong, I love a good challenge in a level, but some of those jumps were rage inducing due to a low ceiling, or some strange water placements which brings us to the next complaint: water placements. Some of the water placements were good and I liked the idea of the water rising and falling, but the floating water needs to go. Some of those jumps were rage inducing for me because of them. Also it didn't exactly look very good. I could understand if it was a SMG themed level, but as far as I can tell, it's not.
Score: 5/10
NPC Placement: There was no variety to the NPCs and the 1st half of the level had none whatsoever. My suggestion would be to add koopa troopas, piranha plants (especially the ones that act like volcano plants), bloopers, etc. Some were also oddly placed. Also why is there a star floating with nothing beneath it?
Score 3/10
Atmosphere: The atmosphere worked well for the level. The tileset used was nice, the music was fitting. The only things that killed the atmosphere for me were the floating water, and the lack of BGO placement.
Score 7/10
Overall Score: 5/10
There were some nice ideas, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.
