I don't know if this has been done yet or... I found the spritesheet for the Gooper Blooper from Super Princess Peach and I thought I'd do a little something with it... :/
The head replaces Mother Brain (I know, very original), the hitbox is his mouth, the rest of the head is basically background.
The tentacles (which I for god's sake couldn't get to look like in the original game) replace various piranha plants.
I couldn't think of any styles that it wouldn't clash with atm (I used SMB3 for the example level and lo and behold, does it clash!) but I imagine it would work pretty well with YI or SMW (or, maybe, I don't know... Super Princess Peach?!?)
I included an example level (screenshot below) to show how I imagine one uses the boss.
During the first phase you have to hit it's red tentacle three times and after that you have to hit it's mouth.
(Oh by the way I forgot to include the custom music in the folder ((which I used because I planned to use the boss in an episode I'm currently working on)) so unless you edit the level, you won't have any music playing during the boss fight)
I now also added a SMB3 recolor, check it out (maybe that'll make it fit in better with the SMB3 water level I made for testing purposes...)
I don't know if I'll ever be making a restyled version of it, but if I do so, you'll find out soon enough

Oh wow. This is a awesome graphic you got there. This is a very useful one to get to the boss directions. Good work with that. No flaws as I can tell despite the cutoff at the floor but whatever...

Yeah I was aware of the cutoff but kinda was too lazy to fix that, I'd recommend the person who uses this just uses a flat floor instead
(btw wow cool that particularly you replied to this, I'm a huge fan of your videos, I just found you a few weeks ago on Youtube )

Pay close attention and you see that it's too detailed for SMBX's 16 bit style.

It's 16 bit though... but it is out of a DS game, after all, and I said already that it's clashing heavily with SMB3, I could imagine it working really well with a YI theme though... it's not my job to make the graphics fit into the game style, I just took them from the sprite sheet and made them into an npc :/

My fault for never reading posts.
I doubt it'd go with YI style, because if its different style of outlining and colouring. I'm not sure on this one, but maybe SPP Style works. People made a SPP Goal Roulette already, so maybe it's time for us to step up our game!

It is from SPP...
Anyways, I see a use for this. Good work!

FWIW zephyr made a grass tileset, mushroom tileset, green pipes, smiling blocks over question blocks, flip blocks, and some enemies (Goomba, Paragooma, red and green Koopas, right side up Piranha plants [they replace the boss kind since they take a few hits like YI], angry and sad Goombas over Rex, and Spike over Ninji), and he also made that roulette.

It looks great! I can't see any clash at all, though I was never good with finding clash. If used correctly, this could make a really neat boss! Good work.

SnifitGuy wrote:The only partial flaw that I can see is the anti-aliasing and the fact that it may not use the SMB3 palette (could be wrong about that last part). Apart from those things, I can see this as a very useful graphic for those who are tired of using a big cheep cheep as a water world boss.
It uses the Super Princess Peach palette, because I used the sprites it from that game, but if you want I could make a SMB3 recolor, as for the anti-aliasing, I didn't make that sprite myself, like I said, it's from Super Princess Peach, I really just took the sprites and made them into SMBX graphics.
