To play an episode: download it and put the folder containing that specific episode in the "Episodes" folder where SMBX is located. To make an episode, use the SMBX Level Editor (the option to select it appears next to the Play Game option upon launch). If you want specifics of level/episode making, look it up; there are plenty of tutorials out there.

To play worlds/episodes, simply drag the episode folder, which should contain primarily .lvl files, into your "worlds" folder and boot up SMBX. From there, you should be able to choose an episode on the title screen.
