Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the video. Part 2 was posted right after you posted that in case you missed it.
I did miss it. Part two is pretty grand dad. I might make a patch 2. I gotta stop making episodes on drugs. That's no good.
Canonically, you see, many mushrooms were taken in the making of this "spectacle," and I think it's about Mario&Luigi going to save Peach, but we forgot the story. The budget ran out, and so did our stash.
Alternatively, this episode was half meme and I think some things were just "WHOOPS."
Damn. Now I have to fix things. I feel like a plumber.
PSA: NightKawata does not actually take drugs while making levels (contrary to popular belief)
I am tempted to give out in-progress builds with the next episode to avoid things where I just forget to 100% finish the levels though lmao
Patch 2 will fix a lot of things and actually do this smart thing where I seperate the soundtrack download from the levels download so people don't need to keep redownloading the oversized soundtrack.
I realized that a lot of the levels I wanted to add to Back in Action would want graphics I couldn't really get a hold of with vanilla, particularly ice themed levels. I really do want to add "DLC" to Back in Action, but it would break it being a vanilla episode, and I could just send those levels to the sequel. With that being said, the sequel tends to focus on graphics that are semi vanilla; the stuff from Sednauir's expanded packs, and Valtteri's pack. Early spoilers. Witchking666 also gets some shout outs in this hit banger. The feel of it being familiar but expanded is gonna be a thing with that one, and it's going to have levels that have some more variety to them. I realized while watching that let's play a few things that can be done better, and part of that has been fixed with the part where I actually learned how to make levels at 1x scale. It makes my life a hell of a lot easier.
It's rare to see 100% vanilla episodes nowdays, now these episode only use custom graphics and recolored smb3-style graphics (that is already boring and repetitive, i'm getting sick of this)
So i'll test this episode...

good stuff, i should be caught up on the issues mentioned by now but i'm gonna add some more attention to details because easter eggs woo

also to all you folks: patch 3 has been released! Just download it for the first time if you haven't already, or replace the files you have in the episode folder with the new one you get in the original post.
this fixes the issues with me not knowing how to place a roto-disc, updates level design in some areas, and overall, improves the game just a little bit.
slick skybase now autoscrolls. It made more sense. Don't worry, it's still fast. I know autoscrolls don't make levels fast, but I did okay.
For you guys wondering, I did not make the music in this game. I do have a pretty good selection of music in the episode if I'd like to toot my own horn, but I don't take credit for the IPs used in this episode or the assets. I made the levels.
Whether or not I'm proud of that is a different story.

edit: new video up
Yeah I mean Breath of the Wild came out which is better than this episode (and probably the sequel) :p
Good stuff, it looks like I forgot about the off rotodisc in a level or two again which is all sorts of fantastic.
I'll probably release patch 4 when I stop being lazy about updating the episode, but you know, dat sequel though.
Some of the new levels blow this out of the water, literally and figuratively.

I'm sure some SMBX members are mostly sick of recolor SMB3 graphics by now. But I never seen any original Graphics* *You know, Graphics made from scratch.

I wouldn't say that, reghrhre and witchking666 have some alright ones. Sednauir also has a few expanded sets that aren't only SMB3. Actually, SMB2's is the most fleshed out.
There's definitely a fetish for SMB3 episodes in this community, and while my sequel has some SMB3, it does give love to all of the games.

have you tried looking with your eyes?
I meant to say, graphics made with a Different 16-bit color palette would be a breath of fresh air for not only me, but for some of the SMBX community
Yes, there's more than 6 worlds. We can afford it this time.
The screenshots obviously don't do the episode justice, but if you're interested in testing it and giving me feedback, I definitely want more quality assurance with this than Back in Action. Not ready to post a forum topic just yet, but there's an array of levels completed.
