Well, congratulations to the new staff members, I'm sure you'll do the forums good! Also, a gigantic thank you to Joey and all the guys who helped this amazing community grow for a whopping 3 years! I still can't belive that a simple fangame like this would spawn such a huge community, especially considering the original creator isn't even around anymore! It's simply amazing!

Furthermore, I still remember when I first joined the forums. I was such a dumb kid back then, and I even got myself banned! Now, I've changed to a much better user, and I'm simply having a blast on here! I love sharing everything SMBX and Non-SMBX related stuff with you guys, and I've really grown to love this place! I've created loads of threads and made lots of contributions to threads and discussions, and I've even created and uploaded two levels (As of now!) for everyone to see! Without these forums, I wouldn't have discovered this amazing fangame and learned the sheer amount of things you could do with it! And without these forums, I wouldn't have met tons of awesome and cool people that loved SMBX, and Video Games in general, as much as I did! My time on here has simply been amazing, and I highly hope that, even with Joey becoming less active, the legacy of SMBX and the forums will continue to constantly grow, thanks to the community and all the things that have spawned from it, like SMBX 2.0!

Happy 3th anniversary to the forums, and keep on making awesome stuff!

First, congratulations on the new staff members, I'm sure they will do a wonderful job taking care of the forum.

Thanks Joey, to put your heart in this forum, it has 3 years...and i played SMBX since in the version 1.2 (2010, i guess) and I did not know about the existence of a forum, only this year. But i know that you're a great, awesome master/admin to this community. And thanks to Reddit too, Although he is not here, we should to thank he because he created SMBX and started all this.

SMBX Community is very awesome, they do excellent episodies, levels, graphics. They are doing great work with SMBX 2.0, Lua and PGE. They're cool and i must thank for belonging to this community.
(This community is helping me to talk and learn english, so ty :v)

Thank you!

Ah, indeed it has and it feels like a new generation.

Congrats to the new staff members of the forum (Especially our new global moderators).
Well, I'll start my story and how I've end up here...

In October 2013, I looked up "Mario Level editor" and I stood with Super Mario Flash 1 & 2 and they all were pretty bad in design.
When I finally asked myself when I saw the old videos for SMBX, I decided it was time for me to answer my question: "What is SMBX?"
And I watched Wii Rike to play's playthrough of the invasion 2, after all 20 parts I found the real part of Youtube's SMBX side, especially Bossedit8 and his gameplay.
By July 2014, I started playing SMBX, but I was still watching his videos and I've never thought of joining the forums.
However, after watching game play of Tob 9 my deicsion was set, but the plan to do so wasn't too certain.
Various ideas were made, even my original "mr.sodor123" was almost chosen in January but I decided to stick with a new and unique name.
I changed my mind and decided to call myself Ness-Wednesday, the original icon was made back in March 2015 with the nickname, and I finally joined when I heard that CC11 started.
I've finally joined as the date states on my profile, and now I've changed from a kid into who I am now, and I feel happy to be here!

Happy 3rd anniversary to the forums, Happy Holidays and best wishes in 2017!

Anyway, I may have touched on this a little, but considering a lot of people are talking in depth about their community history, here goes with mine.

The year was 2009. I had played Mario so many times I felt like wanting to design my own level. This was when I discovered GameNinja.com and the fact that it had a whole section dedicated to Mario games. It was there where I started getting hooked, and I found this game called Super Mario Flash. It was interesting, but what really sold me was the level editor, and me and my brother would compete to see who would make the best SMF level. However, I got bored of that pretty quickly, and I wanted some more excitement. That was when I discovered SMB.org, and the fact that it had this really awesome game, called Super Mario Bros. X. The screens looked really awesome, a blend of styles and gameplay, you could do whatever you wanted in it. What sold me onto that was the fact it had a full-fledged level editor, so I eagerly downloaded it. I couldn't figure out how to use the editor until a year later, at which point I started making (really bad compared to now) levels left and right.

Now let's fast-forward to 2012. I was getting a bit bored of SMBX, and I wanted to start a project and share it with someone in the same way Redigit did with his Invasion series. I found this forum, New Super Mario Bros. X (NSMBX as you call it) and the community just seemed really nice. I thought there would be a good place to share what I was doing, so I signed up, under the name "castlewars". Looking back on it now, it was a pretty stupid idea of myself to be named after a card game off Newgrounds, hence the name changes 3 years later. I shared my first project, "The Potion Plight" and I got some really interesting feedback from other members. This has helped me to further my level design skills and establish myself as the level designer I am now. A year later I decided to take a dabble in the community contests, and my first contest was CC5. I got a respectable placement of being at the bottom of Tier 3, especially for a first-timer to contests.

I was a part in several major community events that unfolded during my time in the community, such as the merger that formed SMBX: Revived. Whether they are good or bad, I feel proud to be a part of them, and they have established the character that I am now. I still look back on it fondly and this is evidenced by the fact that I am remaking the first episode I played, back in 2009. Thank you SMBX, and to all of you guys in the community, for giving me a great 4 years.

Hey, I've got an idea! How about we make a 3rd anniversary level contest? That would be pretty fun, and a great way to celebrate 3 years of SMBX.org!

There's already the Japanese Level Contest which is on now. I don't think that running two official contests concurrently would be a good idea

It's really surreal how I started out on Knux' forums, then merged (heh) here, witnessed all of that drama, made myself a new account, and now Joey steps down.
o.O

I am so grateful for all of the great years in this community, and I wish you the best of luck in your future. You will be missed.

Don't worry we will be nice with the new recruits. :P
Ah, Joey, I will miss you a little. Your squirtle avatar was the first thing that talked to me when I became an user of the forums. Alright, it was a PM telling me that I have to put screenshots on my posts, and also that I have to improve my english: but I still appreciate that. You are the best.

Joey said he's not leaving, he's just retiring from his leadership role.
