Are we 100% certain that Mario Maker will NEVER include slopes? Not that I'd miss them that much, but I'm just wondering.
I can see All-Stars pack being an eventual DLC.
This is wishful thinking, but it would be beyond awesome if they managed to work with SMB2 and Yoshi's Island assets to incorporate them into the styles. For example making a YI-styled grown Mario sprite and making goombas transition to shy guys in the way they transition to galoombas in SMW. Perhaps that's asking way too much and it would be an ordeal to see what NPCs/objects best fit where on each palette (and perhaps it outright couldn't work for some reason), but who here wouldn't buy that DLC pack?

I would totally buy that DLC pack. I'm super hyped for Super Mario Maker. I'm wondering if it will be digital only or if it will have it's own disc. If there's a physical copy, I'm buying that instead of the digital!

It will probably be both.

It comes with a booklet shaped exactly like the standard Wii U disc case. The booklet has a bunch of level design ideas, each with a code that plays a video when you enter it into the game.
I'm normally not a sucker for bundled items but I might cave for that if it's a limited release.

They've shown autoscroll at Nintendo's Treehouse. It has turtle mode, rabbit mode and cheetah mode.

According to the developers during a recent interview, there is no DLC being considered at this time. I think that is a good call because
1.) Its better if they release everything at once than in pieces.
2.) I don't want to buy packs if they had a cost.

That may be true, but years ago I would not have predicted Super Smash Bros. having DLC characters.
I think they've taken this focus with games because they want the games they've created to support development for longer periods and give Wii U players more out of each game, while still releasing the game within a reasonable time frame instead of at the end of the Wii U's lifespan. It makes more sense in this case to release expansions than sequels since they're not as known for releasing each iteration of IP per year like certain other developers.
Of course, they may have a different attitude for Mario Maker, but I'm just observing the company's recent choices overall.

This has probably been discussed before, but seeing how we all (probably, at least) are at least somewhat acquainted with SMBX, do you think that Mario Maker will be able to fill a niche that SMBX doesn't that justifies its $60 pricetag for you? I was dead-set on buying this game but ever since I was recently introduced to this program, I'm starting to feel less and less of that need. I do think that Mario Maker has some cool elements, such as the fact that NPCs can be resized, placed on top of each other, and placed inside blocks once on top of each other, along with lots of other crazy stuff like that (that can't be achieved with my extreme lack of knowledge of coding levels for SMBX). Additionally, I think that the fact that Mario Maker is an official Nintendo game instead of a fangame will cause many more people to get Mario Maker than SMBX, causing there to be more and more good levels. (That does mean that there will also be more crappy levels to sift through, but you gotta have the good with the bad.) I dunno, though. Suddenly, my enthusiasm seems waning, especially since Mario Maker lacks somethings that SMBX has (custom GFX and music being one of the biggest advantages of SMBX IMO). I dunno though. What do you all think?
