Reposted from MFGG
Could this be a 3DS level maker? I thought I'd post it because everyone in my "would Nintendo make an editor?" thread was stating the thread title - could they be right?

If this was a thing I would actually be really happy.
Leaks are often faked, though, although this is a pretty real-looking photo. I wouldn't take anything to be confirmed until E3 actually happens.

Even if this is true, I wouldn't call it an indication of desperation from Nintendo on its own. I'd rather first assume that Nintendo thought, "Hey, people seem to like making levels. Let's give them a thing that lets them make levels." If anything, I'd expect this to be as powerful as the level editor from March of the Minis, or Super Mario Flash.
Still, it would be interesting to see Nintendo focus on an official editor. Regardless of its capability, I like the idea of them making one at all, and it'd likely be popular with crowds that have never experienced the other available editors.

I hope it's not an editor for the original Mario Bros. We have tons of those already. We really need something NSMB level here for it to be worthwhile.

I'd read this thread, but I'll wait until E3.
You know, because I'm smart, and I don't just go "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" at a single person telling me a thing.
Also why are you antagonistic over this?

I'm in no way opposed to MM. I just thought it was funny that people told me "Nintendo would only make an editor if they were going out of business!" and here we are.

Honestly, I've always kinda wanted SMBx to be on a mobile platform, since the whole click and drag mechanic for building levels feels artificial with a mouse. If it does end up to be on the 3DS, I'll be pretty darn excited.

Yes yes YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
But even though Nintendo might be making one, Smbx will still be the best.

I do indeed fear that it will be a "dumbed down in exchange for less options" editor like SM63.

SM63's editor was made after the main game. And people have made far more intriguing things on it than I've seen SMBX ever produce.
<various other defenses towards sm63>

Guys, Super Mario 63 is a great game. You can do sequence breaks, like access Lethal Lava Land before getting your first shine sprite, and getting to Bowser's castle right after the Turbo and Rocket fludd tutorial. But that's not the point of this topic.
Anyways, I need backup proof.

I imagine they would have come up with a decent logo instead of black text reading Mario Maker because that's awfully unprofessional from Nintendo. Don't get your hopes up, this will probably be at Nintendo's booth if it's real but I fear it'll just be a SMB1/SMB3 editor.

We could have some more NSMBWII or Newer custom level stuff here but most of the people here are only familiar with Smbx.

I've seen this not too long ago. Too bad it's only an SMB1 level editor. Haha.

FWIW I think I saw a Paragoomba in the poster.

This does look interesting, but I don't think I'm the only one who would rather have a SMB3 level maker.
