Hallo there

Postby Vellidragon » Thu Jan 15, 2015 10:08 pm

Obligatory introduction thread without much to say about me. I'm a writer and artist in her mid-20s who is also a Furry and native German speaker. I came across this game a few years ago, lost interest and recently picked it up again to waste some time when I can't be bothered to do anything more sensible, which happens often lately.

Won't be active much, but hallo!

Yay, thanks for the welcomes. :3 No need to point me to rules, though I did check them out long before I signed up, of course. They seem very common sense-y.

Mechdragon (same one as the subcon NPC in Mario Prime? Been playing that), I'm honestly not sure how to say that phrase in German; I don't think I've ever heard anyone wishing someone a "good stay" in German. "schönen Aufenthalt" would be closest thing I can think of to translate that, but that sounds overly formal and as though I were staying at some kind of hostel. If there's anything I've learnt from years of studying languages (and I'm not sure if there is), it's that some things don't translate well and are much better replaced with an equivalent phrase. What that would be, I'm not sure; just wishing the person fun would probably be the best greeting to a forum (e.g. "viel Spaß im Forum").

Whoa, sorry about that! I get a little carried away on linguistics. :S

Hello and Welcome to the Forums. I am @bossedit8 who makes Levels, Episodes and even Videos based on SMBX and sometimes Mario Builder, Touhou, ZSNES Emulators and rarely more.

Have a very nice time here.

Hey. :3 I think I've seen some of your SMBX videos, bossedit. I have a habit of lurking on fora for a while and digging through the threads before I sign up, if ever. It's really nice you make these, they give a good impression of whether something is worth downloading for me personally.

I've been tinkering with Wohlstand's editor but I'm not sure if I will ever be making a whole episode. I don't really want to invest much time or effort into this kind of thing and I'm having enough trouble keeping some long-term motivation for my commercial projects. (I did use to work on a Super Mario World hack many years ago, but it's long been cancelled and I never posted about it anywhere since I only lurked anonymously at SMW Central.) I justify toying around with the editor by telling myself I'm practising my design skills. I occasionally have my own game projects going but they rarely get very far. I'm aware I could post stand-alone levels, but they're not at all innovative.
