How do you make a moving background?

Postby Zonnepoes » Thu Apr 09, 2015 10:21 am

So i think i am going to return to SMBX and gonna rip some blocks and the background. Its just one problem. I want to have the background move like a giant cloud going to the right. I know how to rip graphics and do other stuff, its this that i have got a problem for.

Help?

(also i don't know if this is the right section of the forum to post.)

You can replace your giant cloud with big BGOs (like Ghost Houses) and set them on a moving layer. To make them loop, just set the level on "Level wrap".
Sadly we can't make moving backgrounds yet!

You'll have to have it move frame by frame. You need to replace one of the animated backgrounds such as the SMW underwater background and add the frames you want into here. You can't have it move continuously.

No; moving layers aren't affected by screen wrap. I just tested it. Layers attached to NPCs, on the other hand...see for yourself:

--EDIT--

This only works for one-screen-wide sections since the layer stops moving if the NPC is off-screened.
