Worst part of school

Postby MistakesWereMade » Sat Feb 21, 2015 9:27 pm

What period of your school life has been the most unpleasant for you?

Socially, 4th grade of primary school (which took place when i was like 10 years old), there were a lot of dickish and perverted kids who were literally abusing the shit out of eachother, everyone was a retard throughout that period but i managed to dodge them.

Work wise, 3 of the subjects i have right now (chemistry, computers, math) are the only ones that are worth shit, rest are like history, philosophy, life abilities (???) and oral/written expression (i guess this one sort of helps me but not as much as the ones that are worth it).

What about yours?

My worst part of school is going there, being there, and having to be near the people there. Going there because I know I am going into "Hell: Human Edition." Being there because I don't want to be there, interrupts SMBX time. And the people there are complete morons/sissified bullies/annoying people/derphole teachers/ect...

I hate a lot of things about school, but most of all I hate how school makes me hate myself because of the grades I tend to get. I used to be a really smart, straight-A student, but that just... changed for some reason. I don't know why.

When I was in kindergarten, I wasn't feeling good and I didnt want to eat my chicken nuggets for lunch. Apparently my recess aid didn't like that and she kept yelling and me, telling me to eat them. I wasn't feeling good, so I didn't. Then my recess aid proceeded to make me sit on the bench during recess and put the chicken nuggets in front of me until I ate them. I still didn't and she called my parents. They went up to the school and put her in her place.

Meaningless work in between useless standardized tests for me. I left traditional school before my state adopted Common Core so I don't know how much worse it has gotten, but I've seen some of it since I'm still technically in public school. Teachers were fine for me. It was the dirt-bag students that made life hell. There's no freedom of association in school, so naturally this messes with people, and myself included. Before I left, I used to be really depressed until 9th grade and then pissed in 10th because of how meaningless it all was. I would imagine this is why there is bullying in the first place in schools since it's such an artificial and involuntary environment. With all this, my grades suffered until I started online education and started finishing classes with As and Bs. This year if it wasn't for my finals, I would have had straight As.

TL;DR
Everything about public school sucks and it's getting worse.

Common. Core. SUCKS. Also, what state are you in?

Seriously, my GPA would probably be at least 10 points higher if we didn't have to do stupid common core stuff. Especially in math. If only they made Schoolhouse Rock for Algebra ;-;

Probably 5th grade. This was the period when kids were first discovering the fundamentals of sexual humor, so all of them would absolutely overuse it. So annoying.

6th grade, I was bullied for a short amount of time, that sucked.

10th grade, hated my class schedule.

2nd grade was the worst year of my life, hated it to the core. 5th grade could be better, and now, i could have more work where i work at school. Yes i have a job at school.
Personally, i like school, just hate the parts mentioned above.

Florida. And yes, it sucks very much. Just look up some of the bullshit they teach elementary school kids:

I had a question in English II about the 2nd amendment myself. It was a reading comprehension question and it showed the text for the 2nd amendment as it is in the Constitution, and you had to pick A, B, C, or D for what it meant. I don't remember all of the answer choices by heart, but the "correct" answer to it was that it meant "a well-regulated militia has the right to bear arms" as opposed to the people. Politics aside, the English of that is not true and when putting politics back into play it's still inappropriate on either side.

This was the only question that's really stuck out for me so far, but I'm not sure if Common Core is responsible for the other tame problems with course material I've had such as when I took U.S. Government. In that course Anarchism is equated with chaos which is what the lesson described would happen if the government did not fulfill certain tasks: mail delivery, building roads, and (unironically) education, yet that's a misconception that could come from places other than Common Core which shouldn't be there anyway since the whole point of me taking a course is to be educated and not miss-informed.

Fourth grade is a decent time to learn Algebra. I think it was when I was in either 5th or 6th grade when I started, and in hindsight I should have started earlier. Choosing Math II Adv over Algebra I as an elective out of Elementary school was probably the worst decision I made in school tbh. I would be able to graduate high school by the end of March if I had gotten a class ahead.

One time, when I was in the 4th or 5th grade, I was bullied at school. It still happens to me, but now I don't care about it anymore and I can usually stand it.

And this is why I'm glad to be home-schooled, The BAD Times I have, Are times I don't apply myself, Plus my curricula is tailored around my strengths and interests mostly, with the subjects required by state law thrown in.

If I were in public school... Yeah I'd probably be bullied for my personality, an not do my homework because I already figured the material out in class...

I started learning algebra in 5th grade, but I didn't understand it at all. 6th grade was when I really started to grasp the concept of it. As for the Pre-Algebra class itself, that was when I was in 8th grade.

Well, I was going to say hangovers and laundry, but in the context of middle/high school, I had an extremely shitty middle school experience, one that dramatically shaped how I view myself to this day even.

Well I'm a post graduate seeking employment but if I were to think back I'd have to say bullies and the exams (high school/college) are the worst. Yet I didn't get messed with much, and if they did, this "skinny boy" still could show a wicked streak out of hell which is still feared (even by my own self) to this day.

I really could hurt or badly injure people back then maybe even be willing to kill. *shudders*

I had a sort of "Hulk out" rage.
