Maybe... but all we can do is wait out until something happens. Sooner or later there will be a recreated SMBX but from a different created member.

Edit: Original author deleted! Topic not made by me nor I have any responsibility for it!

We tecnically can't say a new version but more like a recreated one with all elements already put it in that has been done before in the past of smbx.

No, but as bossedit8 said, there are some successors in development: they are PGE and VSMBX. I'm hyped for PGE more than VSMBX, though.

yeah, Wohl's PGE editor and GhostHawk's VSMBX are enough good to call them new smbx versions

PGE includes faster editing and some bug fixes, but VSMBX will have new in-game functions. (like configurable gravity, new enemies, time limit, configurable boss hp without lunadll-like stuff but conf. boss hp isn't as sure as other 3)

I think, you missed something in the [ Level -> Properties ] menubox

There are special features which later will be implemented into PGE Engine but now there are grayed yet.
Also PGE Engine will have built-in LunaDLL features, and features which will give even a creation of new own NPC's from scratch with implementation of it's algorithm in LUA

PGE seems like the most obvious choice atm. I haven't looked at VSMBX yet to determine if I like that proposed solution or not.
