Help Ignoritus with his Science Fair Project!

Postby Ignoritus » Sat Feb 07, 2015 10:34 pm

WHAT IS THIS?
I need a lot participants for my Science Fair project this year since I don't just need the actual participants who's data is going to be used, but also people to help test and polish my experiment.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIMENT?
I've written a simple "AI" (if you deem to consider it that) that plays a simple little text-game with you and uses the data from your previous choices to try and outsmart you.

I WISH TO BE A PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY, HOW DO I HELP?
https://www.sendspace.com/file/y5w89a

Download that, replace memory.txt with the memory pasted by the previous person in this thread who has played it. It will look like this:
A2;B0;C0;D1088.96;E1.5;F2;

Play through until it stops (50 rounds), then make a post here and Ctrl+V. It will have copied your choices and final score automatically. Then open "memory.txt" and paste the contents here as well so the next person can use the updated memory. Be sure to paste the results before you copy the contents of memory.txt or you will copy over it!!

MY ANTIVIRUS/MOM/PET CACTUS SAID IT'S A VIRUS!!!!!
This is an amateur-written and unknown program. Those are typically detected as viruses. It's safe.

Ahahahahaha! I tried using Chrome, Mozilla, Opera, and IE and all of them blocked the download because it's apparently malicious.

What? I'm running Firefox and I can download it just fine.

Was I supposed to paste the one you provided first? It downloaded fine for me, by the way.

Yes, you copied over it.

I just tried again with my antivirus off, every single download has been blocked.

Browsers shouldn't block file downloads automatically. Do you have an addon or something?

Oh. I didn't paste yours into the memory.txt file; not sure if that'll affect the validity of my result.

I have the Avast! add-on, but I did disable my antivirus completely so it shouldn't have come up.

The one I provided as an example was the same as the one in it by default. But what really matters is the result stream and score at the moment.

Thanks, but once again this is not particularly helpful to me without the results stream and final score that should have been copied to your clipboard automatically.

I played the game, and now I'm questioning my life choices. Also, where does the second line of Rs and Ls come from? I can't find it.
