Trojan Poweliks and dllhost

Postby Radishl » Thu Jan 22, 2015 5:16 pm

Multiple dllhosts have been running in the back ground of my computer for some weeks now. Slowing down the computer a crap ton, I kill them but they replicate some minutes later.

Today I figured out this thing was cause by '' Poweliks '' some powerful virus inside your registry.

How can I remove this without my dad freaking out?

(In the link) Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is probably a good option in general.

If it can't fix your problem, it's probably best to just look up how to deal with the infection by name. Search "how to remove poweliks" or something along those lines. You'll probably find better information than what you'll get on the SMBX forums.

I second using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, it's a great anti-maleware program and it's free! It helped me take care of Gosavve and other viruses.

You should also go to your control panel and select Uninstall/Change Programs. Check to see which program(s) you've installed on your computer recently, it may be the cause of your Trojan virus. You may even find a program in the recently installed list which recreates the trojan.

If you still can't get rid of the virus tell me on this thread or PM me. Hopefully you don't have to re-install your OS, (Most likely will not have to.)
