Trading cards

Postby Hasbeen400 » Sun Dec 07, 2014 12:19 pm

Does anyone here collect trading cards? I'm holding a couple right now. I am thinking of starting a trading card collection for my Soccer and Pokemon cards (of which the latter I don't have any of yet).

Every once in a while, but not frequently. I sometimes buy Pokemon or Yugioh cards, but that's pretty much it.

My brother is a Pokemon card collector though.

I've been doing YuGiOh since it first came out in 2002 and I have at last count about 3500 cards, none of which are the same (except alternate artworks). If you want to start a collection, it's great fun and is a nice little side hobby. I must warn you though, it can become addictive once you start to get more though. Plus, if in the eventual you become bored with it, selling your collection can sometimes make you a healthy profit and passing it on to someone else is usually fairly easy to do, so there's no real negatives to it. I'd recommend trying it out at least once.

Unlike most of my friends, I never collected/played the games of trading cards when I was younger. I kind of feel like I missed out, but then again, I had a GameCube a couple of years before my friends did.

Nowadays I mostly see them as a money suck, but I must admit that I was VERY tempted to get into the My Little Pony CCG when it was announced. I do respect the people who put time and money into these things, it's not all that different from buying a bunch of new video games every year, and the games are usually fun.

I've been collecting & buying yugioh cards since I was, like, 8 or sumthin'. I have no idea how many I have though, but I have some cards that are worth more than the rest of my collection (damn, those hieratic cards cost ALOT). I don't have that many pokemon cards, though. I think I sold them.

Trading cards were part of my childhood, and my brother's. :P
