Now before you think that I like him, I'm jusst going to state it: Pewdiepie is my least favorite game-centered channel on youtube. I think that his fanbase is full of people that are too scared to take one step out of their own boundaries to try new and other youtubers. And because of that, people like Game Grumps and Markiplier go unnoticed while pewdiepie reaps another million subscribers.
I'd like to share a story with you who think that pewds is the best. I saw a single video of his. I laugh uncontrollably most of the time when a friend shows something stupid or funny or I watch a funny youtbube video. I saw his funniest moments video. I had a flat face the entire video. I didn't find him funny. I wanted to see if anyone felt the same way I did, so I checked the comments. One person agreed with me. There were 500 replies (the max by the way) saying that the person commenting is a d****bag and a 11 year old kid who doesn't know what funny is. The community was so toxic towards people that don't conformed to the bro way of life. I just found it disturbing. So I checked out the fan-made content. Game-Grumps popularized the idea of animating commentary, and was animated by a professional animator. I saw ameteur animation, which is still okay because its the fans doing this, but when I watched these animations I felt that Game Grumps did it better. See:
Game Grumps also popularized the remixing of commentary and putting to music. So I checked the remix Pewdiepie has on his channel (which is the only one I found). It was okay. But compared to Game Grumps...
I'm not saying that he is a bad youtuber, because he has like 30,000,000 fucking subscribers; but I do feel that he overshadows some shows and fanbases that deserve more praise. Now for the final comparison: Episode Quality
I don't like PewDiePie at all. He's overrated. But I don't like Markiplier, either. He's just a PewDiePie wannabe and he's only funny when he tries not to be (ex. scares, stupid shit, etc.)
However, I will admit, PewDiePie's Outlast playthrough was pretty damn entertaining.
Markiplier all the way dude, Markiplier all the way. I find him to be one of the best youtubers out their. I have watched a teenie weenie bit of Pewdiepie's videos, and they were...okay? I personally found the co-op Portal 2 custom chambers shin dig to be hillarious-ish, especially the animated versions. But again, Markiplier all the way. But to each their own I guess.
I personally think he would be bearable to watch if he said witty anecdotes, and swore less(SRSLY! I watched ONE of his vids and was appalled by the rate of practically 4 F***s per minute!) he the perfect example of how people don't want QUALITY on Youtube, its all about QUANTITY of Vids.

I sort of agree with this point, however as long as the swearing isn't so excessive that it distracts you from the actual gameplay/meaning of the video, I don't think swearing a lot is a bad thing. Still, it's rather annoying to get deafened by 10 fucks a minute.

That's what he was complaining about? You read it wrong.
The problem with Pewdiepie is that he is too scared to do anything different. I can count ten different Amnesia playthroughs on his channel alone. Markiplier at least varied his selection with games like To The Moon and with sketch comedy and collaborations (RUN ON SENTENCE WOO!).
Pewdiepie actually played to the.moon and did a whole playthough which i enjoyed.
Yes the fan base is toxic and is basiclly the apocalypse on youtube bit it could be worse. He could be the only channel on youtube. Personally people say he plays games the other youtuber play or tjat.he copys or just.plays the same thing over and over again, but in truth, he plays many good game lile.outlast, to the moon, corpse party, walking dead, and bully which i enjoyed due to the story they had. People just say he is overrated which he is to a point but he does play great games and does some good thing but not everything good.

Markiplier is way better than PewDiePie in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of Poodeepye. Also I don't see Markiplier as a PewDiePie wanna-be. I've seen Mark do a lot more charitable stuff than Pewdie has done. And Mark is actually entertaining, and not screaming in 90% of his videos.
Also we all gotta know his fanboys. According to them pewdiepie is the only one allowed to play games bc(mostly by watching markiplier) you can see his retarded fans screaming"OMG YOU STOLE THIS FROM PEWDIEPIE!!!111!!!"

I watched Markiplier back when he was good, but now he's been evolving into a PewDiePie-esque youtuber as he got more famous, at least that's what most youtubers have been becoming when they get famous or something like that.
PewDiePie isn't the worst Youtuber out there, but I don't really like him either.
-His videos are repetitive. Seriously, I feel like I'm watching the same video every time, only different games. He acts the complete same in all of them, and it gets old.
-A HUGE chunk of his fanbase consist of younger kids who absolutely rage when you say something as simple as "PewDiePie sucks" (seriously, I tested this out a while back by commenting that on his channel, and I got a TON of replies hating against me).
