A Weird Bug

Postby Frozen Rex » Sat Nov 22, 2014 12:03 pm

Well, I have a problem with SMBX. My computer updated itself one week ago. After that, I couldn't put any blocks, items, npcs or warps to under and right sides of the screen:

I can't put anything outside of wood blocks. Even the cursor disappears there.
So, what is the problem? I can edit levels, play episodes but this bug annoys me. How can this be solved?

(Also I use Windows 8)

Interesting.

If anything related to this only happens in SMBX, though, it must be a bug with that game in particular. Try uninstalling and reinstalling SMBX and see how that works for you.

Must be some video thing. How much graphics memory or RAM does your PC have?

It's not a video error. It's a resolution error with newer versions of Windows. If your screen is too small to fit both the game window and the tiles windows, then you need to either a: Getter a bigger resolution or b: deal with it, cause there is no other fix.

It does this to the bottom half of my game window on my laptop screen.

So no one else other than me seemed to have that problem before, what ^^?

Do not worry about that, since it shouold easily be fixeble.

Go to "system configuration", and there go to "display", where you should have the options to set the zoom-level to 3 levels - 100%, 125% and 150%.

Set it to 100%, and everything should work fine for you again.
I had that problem too, and it took me a bit of time, until I have found out the problems solution, so I know how you feel :-).

I had this issue with a widescreen laptop and 1.3, but not with 1.3.0.1 and a not-widescreen monitor.

Some people have odd sized monitors, like me, and already have the text scale to 100%. 1366 x 768 is a really odd size, but a lot of monitors on laptops have this as the maximum resolution. Which I then point back to my previous post.
