SMBX Launch Issues

Hello all,
I've recently been turned onto SMBX and have been blown away, really a phenomenal game. I installed it on my arcade cabinet and have been having some issues launching the game. My primary monitor is a 27" arcade monitor and graphics card is an ArcadeVGA card. When I'm working on the cabinet i plug in an LCD monitor through the DVI port. Here is where my issue arises. When the LCD monitor is plugged in, the game launches fine on the correct screen and plays with no issues. When I disconnect the LCD, the launch screen will display, and when I click start game nothing happens until I plug in the LCD monitor and the game will then launch correctly. It's as if the game is waiting for the LCD to launch even though neither the initial start screen or the game are being displayed on the LCD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
