You may have noticed that I have not been reviewing much lately, and that's because I've been a bit busy (which I'm not that busy anymore as of starting today actually) and on top of that, I haven't been able to find much levels to review lately.
Anyhow, this will be simple. Post here (DON'T PM ME since that ruins the thread's purpose) requesting me to review your levels, as long as you abide by these rules:
-The level you want me to review MUST be in the level section.
-You MUST agree that all of the reviews I make will get moved into Trashcan, The Best, etc. if approved by level judges.
-Your levels MUST be a .zip or .rar.
-NO joke levels. They waste my time and they are NOT tolerated.
List of Levels I Need to Review:
-Tropical Grasslands by Gameclip477
-Red-hot Depths by dragonfan96
-Crazy Cavern Capers by 8bitmushroom
-Flaming Lava Fields - Difficulty Spike by KoolKat
-SMBX Teaches Typing by Imaynotbehere4long
List of Levels I Have Reviewed...
-Boo Banshee Boardwalk by bossedit8
-Fungus Fields by Valtries the Fox
-Chapel of Dark Prayers by Zant
Oh, and you can actually request your reviewing format! If you want me to do the Initially, Generally, and Overall, the Design, Atmosphere, and Placement, the Summary, Pros, and Cons, the Design, Gameplay, Placement, Atmosphere, and Gimmicks (WARNING: If you choose this reviewing style it'll take me significantly longer for me to write up your review, or the Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly, Fourthly, and Fifthly, just let me know!
Now start sending me things to review! I need something to do.

All right, thanks for the submissions, guys. But what review format do you want? (Check the original post to see your options.)

Bossedit8, open the spoiler don't below to see your review. Alternatively, you can check it out in Boo Banshee Boardwalk's original thread: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 677#p76677
Design - 9/10
This is a very interestingly designed level. It starts out in a linear boardwalk with very few obstacles and platforming, until you hit the first jump, and that's when it starts getting good. The gameplay for this is honestly fantastic, and it's rare I find a SMW level so fun. The exploration and music is great on top of that, and you used generic graphics which captures the traditional Mario feel. To start being nit-picky, though, you should have maybe added more puzzles to this, because I felt all I was doing is going right and finding secrets (which I never mentioned that the secrets were rewarding and hidden well). Secondly, everything was SMW-styled until you hit the Tanooki Suit and Leaf. I mean, I guess this really isn't a problem, but I just find it a bit odd, that's all. Thirdly, the fun factor in this level was pretty good, but on the other hand the spam of certain things made you go downhill (see the Placement category for more details). Another flaw with this level is that once you enter the pipe that the hidden vine led you to in section four, the pipe exits you back into section three, and I don't understand why unless it was meant to be a trap. Conclusively, if you accidentally drop the Spring Board down the pit in a few sections, you're forced to die, and I strongly dislike that. Perhaps add a generator or something.
Atmosphere - 6.5/10
This category most likely got a lower score that you would have expected it to, but allow me to explain why: The whole lack of scenery in all of the sections but section 3 and the cluster of random background object blocks in section 3 really threw you off since background objects are the main thing that makes up a good atmosphere. On the other hand, however, the aesthetics were great (yes, I will be covering aesthetics in this category) due to the sinister atmosphere which you managed to pull off very well with generic graphics. Still, though, you need huge improvement in terms of the atmosphere, and that's why you got a six and a half as a score.
Placement - 7/10
The placement in this level was pretty good, but there was a Boo spam in all of the sections but a few, and if you remove some of these little Boos, you could add some Big Boos to add a better variety. Regarding the powerups, you added way too much despite the fact you got hit by Boos a lot. Still, though, even if you're prone to getting hit a lot in this level, you should tone down the power-up placement, because it honestly could get quite spammy sometimes. Also, the location for the T-switch wasn't hidden whatsoever, when the reward for keeping it and hitting it later is a bunch of overpowered items that you don't need nor deserve. Oh, and I noticed that throughout the level there weren't much pipes for the sole purpose of decoration which is a bit weird. Lastly, I know I have already covered this in the Atmosphere section, but man, the lack of scenery in all of the sections but section 3 really threw you off and the cluster of randomly and sloppily placed BGOs in section 3 also threw you off.
Overall Score - 7.5/10
If I were an official level judge, this would go in Pretty Good.
Also, very conveniently, you're a level judge, so you can approve/disapprove this review and I'll in the mean time send it to TNTtimelord so him and/or other judges can approve it also.
Zant, please tell me a review format.
BTW, bossedit8, if you have another level in the Levels forum you would like me to review, let me know! I know I said I would only review one of your levels a week, but I'm actually going to change that rule right now.

I would gladly review that, but why is it already in The Best? I would rather it be in the regular Levels forum since there's if my level gets approved by at least two judges, it'll go into a different sub-board and it's already in a sub-board it seems.

I will gladly review that, but you need to choose between Initially, Generally, and Overall, the Design, Atmosphere, and Placement, or the Summary, Pros, and Cons. I will not allow Design, Placement, Music and Gameplay, sorry.

I'll go for Design, Atmosphere, and Placement, then.

When you have some spare time, Could you review Red-hot Depths?
Topic's Link: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... =32&t=5052
What does " Initially, Generally, and Overall" mean for reviewing? Also Is anyone able to have 2 of the 3 options for example, design, atmosphere, placement AND summary, pros, cons?

Wait, did you even notify the level judges about this ahead of time? Because I'm pretty sure it's their job to do official reviews, not take the reviews of someone else and say "that's the review that is how I will rate the level".
Also if you want you can review the Summary, Pros, and Cons of my shitty level here: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 973#p21973

Before I posted this, I was already doing numerous unofficial reviews which got approved by level judges and moved to their correct sub-forum, so I doubt it's a problem that I'm starting a thread.

It's a review style invented by me, and it's something like this:
initially...
good level
generally...
fix this, fix this too, blahblahblah
overall...
score:69/10
However, it's much more detailed than I demonstrated.
And reviewing a level using design, atmosphere, placement, summary, pros, and cons would take too long, so no, sorry to disappoint you.
To the rest of you, I'll review your levels sometime Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Be prepared to all get zeros .

The thing is, the level judges should be the ones reviewing the levels, not taking somebody else's review for granted and deciding upon a final score from that itself. If they are doing that then why they're even level judges in the first place is beyond me if they aren't even doing their job the way it's supposed to be done.
