Mask not recognised?

Postby underFlo » Mon Aug 18, 2014 11:21 am

So, I wanted to add these BGOs:

The object they replace (SMW tree trunk) is the same size (32x64), but in-game it seems like there's no mask at all. Is it because the original object had no mask and thus the game doesn't even check for one?

The tree trunk has no mask. Objects with no mask cannot have a custom mask, unfortunately.

This is because that the default graphic does not have a mask. You can't add a Mask manually on a graphic that does not have a mask. Replace it with another one.

That's that.
Try to use the background-54 and the background-59.

These are already used for other fence parts, and I would have liked to have them all in one section. I'll look for other spaces then.

Well, so use some square BGOs. Also I've found that the small SMB1 trees (both snow and normal) are 32x64.

You will find every 32 x 64 BGO by searching "32 x 64" in the background folder. If the small SMB1 trees that Christian07 suggested are also used, then there are the yellow and blue SMW doors. There are other matches such as the SMB2 and 3 doors and the ghost house fence pieces from SMW but the doors have the same issue as the trunk and the fence pieces are foreground which will probably cause problems.

I use the doors now since this way I have all the custom fences on one screen.
