Personally I would advise not using the starman, it has some bugs that I could not solve, such as: A few years ago had developed a way to make a starman, I would like to give this a free use for users, to they can experiment with this, maybe they can improve it, make graphical improvements, and even operate it with LunaDLL!
A user had asked a question about it, I gave my answer, but I decided to do another separate issue, I hope you find it useful, and I regret that mediocre graphics in the folder, this is old, Do not judge me!
If you are riding on Yoshi, will not work the starman.
You must always keep the button pressed to run fast.
You can not have doble custom music on the level.
For these reasons I would advise not using the starman, I thought to use it in my project, but I'll update it to work with LunaDLL and repair some small mistakes, but i don't have not the slightest idea how to use.
Okay, now a little tutorial for you.
The trick is that the player starman grab a npc in his arms indispensably, this npc defeat the enemies, you could use:
A saw SMW
A hammer Hammer Bros
The strange thing to Link Launch when is transformated to Black Link
These npc's, according to my studies starman, can be modified to not harm the player to load them in his arms.
NOTE: These graphics the thought makes many years ago, sorry if not the best.
2.Create an invisible layer, this is the layer that contains the invisible npc chargeable in this case, saw SMW.
3. Place an "Axe" (The Star) in the place where you want the starman.
4. Creates several events, which will be called "starman 1" and "Starman 2", the "starman 1" will be when the song changes to be normal starman, and the event "starman 2" will be when finalize song all back to normal.
5. Creates another event, which then appear invisible saw, this saw has to be in the same place where is the Axe (The graph of the star)
6. The event "starman 2" Will dissapear the layer of the invisible SMW saw, and the starman music hide.
7.Test

Veudekato: The Saw of SMW sound good, trtrtrtrtrtr, but when the player takes on the hands, no have sound
MidiGuyDP: It is a good idea, in fact if you look at the video, where the player takes the "Saw" not have any sound, it is not necessary to replace the sound archive, just delete the sound on the folder SMBX > Sounds.
Can't the player just let go of the Chainsaw/Hammer? If that's the case, then the Starman would be pretty useless if the player can just let it go (don't take it seriously!) and then the Starman abilities will be lost.

I really don't think its possible to make a starman in smbx unfortunately, why redigit didn't add that in, I have no idea.

I think he was gonna add it in some SMBX update.
He ultimately refused to add it in, nor take any suggestions to add a Starman, because he thought people would abuse it in levels and make them too easy. But that's clearly not going to be true should the Starman make it into another SMBX update.
