Okay OP got deleted, so I'm the first post here now... well yeah, as you can tell by the title, this is a topic about Autism/Aspergers.

I don't know whether or not I have it. Have never been tested. Although I do suspect that I have it.
For example (yay story time), in a conversation between RDV and I, after some talk which I already forgot, he asked "Who of us is the autistic one now?" (RDV said that he is autistic).

I know a person in my school who does have it. It's actually pretty depressing how he's treated by the football guys in our school though, as he is constantly teased.

I'm not saying it isn't a serious matter, I just think it's overdiagnosed sometimes.

There's a guy at my school with Autism. He gets picked on a lot. Well, at least he used to. Haven't seen him in a while other than in the hallway. In middle school, he got picked on.

i'd rather not find out if i have autism (though i doubt i do), i'm not saying autism is bad, but the idiots sorrounding me at school take "i have <something>" as "hi get near me and i'll infect you with whatever the fuck i have"

the kind of society i'm sorrounded by in real life is stupid right now

I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was little, or at least that's what my parents told me. I certainly fit the bill, though. I'm absolutely terrible at communicating offline, having a tendency to stumble over my words and briefly lose my train of thought mid-sentence. Even when I'm online, I frequently check everything I say to make sure I get my points across as correctly and clearly as I can. I'll even edit a post just to change a single word or punctuation mark if I feel it's necessary. I have a tough time picking up on social cues, as well as the emotions and intentions of others at times. I also have a hard time properly feeling some emotions myself, so I tend to think operate logically instead. I tend to require excessive clarification before I do something I don't fully understand. My range of interests is limited but obsessive, so while video games are my primary source of entertainment, I play them a lot due to having little interest in much else rather than addiction. However, if you get me talking about them, I might have trouble stopping.

But on the other hand, I have a high attention to detail and care for accuracy, so give me a task I completely understand and can accomplish, and the results will probably be pretty good. I thrive best with routine and repetitive stuff, as I'm concerned less with whether something's getting old and more with whether I'm doing a good job at it.

It's a completely different mental balance than most people are used to, but it works out in its own ways.

You might aswell go and find out dude. although a part of it may due to the fact you're a teenager(?) and there's an awkward phase
I'm not interested in getting tested. I've never been. Refused to do these child-tests we got in germany (where children are asked to say which shape the circle is etc)(dunno if they're a thing in other countries aswell) and people got upset at me for that until my parents gave up. [MISSION ACCOMPLISHED]

Anyways, I don't think 100%-ly knowing "what" I am would affect me in any way, as I'm used to accepting what I have and never ask for much.

Although I have some difficulties trying to relate with others irl, and sure I sometimes don't know what I'm talking about even though I was sure a second ago, I can definitely say I don't have Asperger's Syndrome. Because I know better than anybody else that it's not due to disorders of brain development, but self inattention. I get distracted very easily, so I guess that's a thing.

@Chad: That's really fucked up man, but in some way it's nice you try your best to express yourself correctly to everybody. Sorry if it sounds somewhat disrespectful to you, if that's the case feel free to tell me, but I sort of envy your obsession, I really lack will power for that kind of stuff.

Eh, it's not really as bad as I might be making it sound. It's been like this for about as long as I can remember, so I'm pretty used to it. It's just difficult to socialize.

Well, your social skills on these forums are far better compared to quite a lot of people here.
Yeah, better than those spammers, probably.

You know you could've googled it instead of asking right? Anyway, I'm too lazy to either explain or read so here's a link that I hope it explains correctly the symptoms.

Thanks! It's because I care a lot about presenting myself correctly. The Internet just happens to be enormously helpful in giving me as much time as I need to organize my thoughts, as opposed to real-time conversation.

I have a couple of friends who have ADHD. Same goes for a few of my instructors/teachers. They're great people to be around btw. I've also met a few people that have autism, I like Knux have also read intensely about both autism and ADHD.

I got Asperger's syndrome diagnosed when I was 5. I had huge trouble in the first four years of my school life because of my autism - I was always the one to get bullied, and my teachers didn't like me, either. Starting with Grade 5, things got better. At last. The students and teachers at my new school were incredibly tolerant and that helped me develop, get integrated, and moderate my autism a bit.

On a side note... I've met lots of people with Asperger's syndrome on the internet, one with ADHD, and one with a severe form of autism. All of them happened to like Yoshi. And I don't believe in a coincidence there.
