Costume-making help!

Hello! I have a question - how do I add extra sprites for costumes? (Is it even possible?) I want to make SMB1(NES) Mario costume, but I have one issue - NES Mario have 3 walking sprites (small form), but small form Mario in SMB2SMAS (default costume) have only 1 walking sprite (+idle sprite)

so... anyone know how to do it?
