Mario 3: Вокруг света, more commonly known as
Mario 3: Around the World is a bootleg Mario game for the Sega Mega Drive. Unlike other Mario bootlegs, this one seems to be an original game with its own plot and level design. The game is infamous for not playing like a Mario game, with almost nonexistent physics and awkward jumps. So I thought to myself, "what if someone remade this in a better engine?" and from that idea my first SMBX episode was born. A remake of the 22 levels from this weird Russian bootleg. Keep in mind that this is not 100% faithful, as I felt the original game was a bit too basic so I added some new stuff to make it more like a Mario game.
The story
Wario has kidnapped Princess Peach and is taking her hostage somewhere in Egypt. Mario will now have to go all around the world to rescue her and save the Mushroom Kingdom.
New features
+Power-ups such as the Super Leaf, the Ice Flower, Yoshi and more have been added
+New enemies that weren't in the original game such as Buzzy Beetles can be found
+3 boss battles
+A kinda sloppy world map
+You can now play as Luigi
-Koopas don't wear Santa hats in the snow levels though. I know, that sucks.
