Can you use the old level editor with the newest beta

I know this sounds kind of dumb, but I am curious to see if there is a way to use it with the older level editor, considering that that's the one I grew up with, and I want to see it again.

No. It was too much work to hack the old editor to add new features, plus it's very awkwardly structured and laid out, so we just opted to use a new one we could modify more easily.

Also why? The old Editor lacks features of the new one.

Read my signature for reasons why you wouldn't want to see it again (kek)

I kind of just want to use it with the new stuff just so I can see how it works (I probably forgot to clarify that)

The older editor has the ability to let you add stuff to the level while you are playing on it, which would make it a lot easier for me to figure everything out.

The new stuff is called new stuff because, well, it's new. What do you think would happen if you tried to open an incompatible SMBX2 level in the old editor?
- if it's saved in .lvlx format, like basically every level since MaGLX3/PAL is, it won't even show up.
- if it's still in .lvl format, I dunno what happens to new assets and scripts but it will most definitely crash or otherwise just not work.

The old editor is shit. If you still want a bit of legacy feeling, there's an option for that in PGE within the "Window" menu.

Build-while-test may be the only good thing about the old editor, but normally you first build something and then test it anyway, and if you get stuck, there are cheat codes for most of situations.

Something
That's not what he was talking about? He was talking about, how you could add stuff during Gameplay within the Editor which isn't something you can do with PGE.
