Graphic Novel & Manga Discussion Thread

Since there's a sandbox topic in this forums about [Redacted], so why can't we have a discussion topic about comic book and manga series there?

You graphic novel/comic book/manga loving members of the SMBX community can feel free to chat about any comic book, graphic novel, and/or manga in the replies. As long as they're following these newly updated rules:
  • No talking about 18+ Doujin manga, adult theme graphic novels, or any dirty theme manga* series. (This is a PG-13 forums, what do you expect?)
  • Please for the love of Ultimate Rinka, DON'T freaking post a reply asking "Is *Insert graphic novel series name here* a manga" or anything stupid that's related to that! If you don't know if this graphic novel is a Japanese manga or a western graphic novel, freaking Google/Yahoo search it first.
  • I'm okay with having multiple discussions on different graphic novels and manga in this thread. ^^"
  • They must be official licensed manga, comic book, and/or graphic novels from Shounen Jump, Vis Media, Shojo Beats, DC Comics, Marvel, Dark Horse comics, etc.. (That includes community-based comics, as they're not allowed to be talked about.)
  • If you don't want to spoil what happens in recent chapters of recently released graphic novels/manga for members that haven't read that volume yet, put the spoiler in a spoiler tab, like for example in code:

Code: Select all

[spoiler]Spoiler in recent story![/spoiler]

So let's chat about them!

*I'll sort of allow discussion about some 18+ graphic novels/manga, as long as they're at a softcore level of maturity...

So I was reading the 1st 4 chapters of volume 1* of the manga adaptation of "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess", and I'm enjoying the story MOAR than I expected. And believe it or not, I actually like the manga character design of Link himself MOAR than the design in the actual game imo. Though, I may've not read the other manga adaptations of other Zelda games, but I'll put TP manga Link as mah favorite link design atm. ^-^"

*Chapters 1 through 4, if y'all were wondering! :D

I read the Mistborn trilogy earlier this year. It's a really fun fantasy trilogy with a very concise and well written magic system plus the plot completely throws you around and does not relent with left turns.
