Shonen Jump's membership program (On the mobile app)

Postby FireyPaperMario » Mon Dec 17, 2018 6:00 pm

Just recently, the manga licensing company, Shonen Jump* had released a paid membership program for their iOS & Android app where the users can read the latest volume of the hit recent manga series (Example: My hero academia) AND classical manga* series (Examples: Dragon Ball, Bleach, One Piece, etc.) for about $2 USD a month. This program might be nice to pay for if you wanna read the current month's volume of the current manga.

So, whatcha think of this?

*All Jump manga excluding (I think... ):
  • Yu Yu Hakusho
  • Hunter x Hunter

I'm reading this really interesting cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer--probably one of my favourite books ever at the moment

Right now I am reading through Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach Trilogy (Annhilation, Authority, and Acceptance).

It's a bizarre science fiction series about a topographical anomaly, and the efforts made to understand it. It's weird, but in a good way.

Currently I'm not reading nothing but I loved a book I've read some months ago. It's in spanish so I will say the original name: "Memorias de Mamá Blanca"

It's written by a venezuelan woman, of course!

Yes, those are very interesting books. Asimov is occasionally called a founding father of science-fiction for a reason

I don't really like reading, but I should be reading "The Iron Trial" by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare because it's a school thing.

Bumping to keep this thread alive. Just finished a book on behavioural economics: Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness. Gonna start reading another book on economics and education soon, and I'm putting together a reading list. Would recommend downloading a PDF of a book you're interested in and playing one of those 10 hour noise videos on YouTube or extended ASMR ambience; it's very helpful for focus and relaxing.

Have you read The Art of War? I believe it touches on a lot of the subjects you mentioned above.

I’ve read that before! It has such a great lexicon, I totally recommend that book if you’re looking to expand your vocabulary.

No it doesn't? It's about warfare.

I'm interested in contemporary non-fiction related to particular topics.

The Art of War is actually a must read for many people wanting to jump into business. A lot of it requires reading between lines but it’s definitely there. You mentioned economics and that’s what made me suggest it.
