Rare Video Games Discussion

Postby FireyPaperMario » Wed Mar 04, 2020 5:25 pm

Most (or some) of us SMBX community members knows about rare video games (not the video game company that made Banjo - Kazooie, ), so there's little need for going in-depth about them in the opening post. But in case some of y'all don't know, these games were made in less than some quantities than most of the common games. And sometimes, these games can be expensive on online stores such as eBay and Amazon, or they can be old defuncted cell phone games, I'll allow it. But if you do have a or a few rare games in your possession, feel free to talk about it! ^_^"

Rare games I actually own in real life:

  • Trip World (Nintendo Gameboy)
  • Magical Chase GB (Nintendo Gameboy Color from 2000)

Yeah, that's all I got. lol!

The rarest games I probably own are The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition for the Gamecube and a not for resale copy of Super Mario 64. That is, unless you count DuckTales Remastered, a game that has been taken off of all digital storefronts.

An incredibly obscure, terrible, official, java port of sonic 2. Not even the sonic wiki or sonic retro acknowledges this.

And people say sonic genesis on the gba was the worst ported sonic game....
I also find it interesting how different the death egg robot looks in this game.

I feel like bumping this thread for further discussion, since I now own a Gameboy Color copy of the rare, Magical Chase*, from the mail! So let's continue talking about it! Now I'm gonna update my list. :P

*Y'all know, that adorable TurboGrafx-16 shoot'em up that wasn't successful, so that many copy were destroyed, it also got a GBC port, but only in Japan....

I own all official Eon the Dragon games. It's a series of 2D platformers, except for two spin-offs. They started making these back in 2002, when cell phones with buttons finally became something that ukrainian people could buy (so I also got one from my parents). All 5 EtD games were written in java. It's hard to say the company behind these games is still alive, since they don't produce games anymore, but last time I checked they privately produce some technology for casinos or something like that. The company is called CocoaSoft, located in Slovenia, Europe.

The games are hard to find nowadays, since they've been buried in the past, along with other digital junk...
