Look, I just had to post this good Mario game maker, ok. It's for anyone who is too lazy to Game Maker or Smbx.
Mario Builder is a long-running project (and alternate to Smbx) designed to let anyone easily create their very own Mario games! There are TONS of things to choose from: 15 power-ups, Over 100 different enemies, Over 1100 tiles, a wide variety of platforms and obstacles, secret exits, over 40 songs, over 40 backgrounds, 5 Yoshi colors, and much more! With the ability to upload songs, backgrounds, and tiles, this list goes on infinitely! There is also an overworld editor, title screen editor, an example file, a storyline writer, and the best feature of all which is your imagination and creativity to make the best game possible!
Mario Builder was made by Ting_Thing and uses heavily modified versions of Hello's and djrellik's engines.
From my experience, this is essentially a Mario level editor with more content in some areas, but also with a worse UI and much worse engine. I'd definitely say that SMBX is better, although this can do some things SMBX can't like over world events (via switch palaces) and truly one-use bonus levels. I'm not a big fan of Hello's engine though; it doesn't feel like authentic Mario to me.

Why should he lock this? It is just another Level Editor for Mario there are tons of those even ones for only 1 game just wait until NSMBU and NSMB2 get hacked and people create level editors for them.
It is just that Mario Builder has a few more different npcs and stuff then smbx but it's like a other editor. There is no such best editor since everyone has their mind and stuff. Never really worked that much with it but it looked good for me. After that i jumped to SMBX and then to Reggie.

Ok, but it's still a good one. Plus, I don't know how to install Reggie.

Well there is no install for Reggie either you just download it unzip it and done all you need is the stage folder with the textures and thats it. Thats like extracting a smbx zip.
Can't say I've touched Mario Builder in quite some time, but it was a good editor of its time. The NPC variety was cool, though Hello's SMB Game Master trumped it with the Angry Sun, Fire Chomp and Reznor NPCs. I doubt I still have my old Mario Builder project, but if I do, I'll upload it for you guys, since you enjoy it so much. By the way, did Mario Builder ever have a screenshot function, because I could never find one?
I haven't learned SMBX yet. I have looked around in it to get familiar with its interface and options. There are some really excellent options for SMBX, like event triggers & if you're photoshop savvy you can customize the appearance of the NPCs. It does seem a bit more complex than MarioBuilder, and has cleaner graphix, but MB is a fun program to work with. I have one full length game completed, and working on a 2nd before I get into making a SMBX game.
In my thoughts, Mario Builder is closer to Super Mario Maker than SMBX not because you can build levels and an overworld, but it's because it has a more "Level Creator" feel into it. In SMBX, I feel like I'm creating levels with the purpose to git gud. But in Mario Builder, I feel like I'm in control on how I'm going to make my level and how long and short I'm going to make it.
I was a huge fan of Mario Builder before I got way into SMBX. I'm considering to download this game, but I have Windows 8, and bossedit8 said that Windows 7 is the better Windows to run the game with because it has more power than 8 (That's not exactly what he said. That's my interpretation of what he said). I remember playing this gem in the XP days and enjoyed the heck out of it creating levels that, looking back to them, were awful. I still recommend it today.

I have Win 8. I use Mario Builder v11.4
If you go to Control Panel, select Programs, under the heading Programs and Features, select Run a Program Made for a Previous Version of Windows, then scroll down the list and select Mario Builder, then it should work fine.
I find that MarioPlayer is a bit glitchy in Win 8, even after trouble shooting. If you use MarioBuilder to play the games it should be smoother.
I started a project with it, but then I'm returned in the SMBX world thanks to SMBX2. However, MB goes to 30 FPS and crashes a lot, also the development is stopped.
