Level Editor Problem?

Postby DakotaSpine » Thu Apr 17, 2014 12:27 pm

When I go into the level editor, all I see is a few buttons on the top and bottom of the screen, a black screen, and a large red side bar. When I click the options like Decorations and Tiles, it only gives me one option, and I can't do anything else. Can anybody help?

The buttons at the top and the bottom of the level editor and the black screen are normal when you start up the editor and don't load an already existing level. The side bar at the right is normal as well. (The side bar isn't red for me, however.)
If you click on the buttons, though, you should get more than just one option.
Could you give us some screenshots of what the level editor and the option menus look like? And which operating system are you using?

If your screen is not too big, if you press something like "Blocks and Tiles", you have to scroll down in order to see your selection you can used out what SMBX has. Maybe you can adjust your Screen so you can see your SMBX editor better for even valueable editing experiences...

I see... I do wonder how that could happen since the level editor should be the only window that is opened... Unless you start another program or game at the same time...
Thank anyway guys.

Fullscreen aka horribly-stretched-mode? Check the game's options if you want it to be in the normal game.
I don't think it's possible in the editor without just dragging the borders of the level window all over the place.

If you mean making your sections bigger, the Level Settings tab in the Editor will help you. You should be able to see a "Level Borders" box in which you can select the direction in which you want to expand your section. Then you move around with cursor and arrow keys and left-click where you want the section to stop.

All you need is an mp3 file. Copy the name, go to where music is and click custom, paste the name (ctrl+v) and add .mp3, make sure custom is pressed and the music should play. Make sure the mp3 is in the same folder the .lvl is in.

Also remember,

I do not understand. And besides, I write about my problems in the Level Editor. Does not that count?
