OK, so this level was not that great. Gameplay was mediocre at best. It was just fighting standard SMBX bosses reskinned as Bowser. There was some random level area at the end though I don't understand why it is there, but I will get on to that later. For the bosses themselves, most of them were OK since they were basically just the bosses. However at the end of the Ludwig boss the SMB3 bowser just appears. If you defeat Ludwig at the spawn location of the SMB3 bowser then you will damage or die for what is essentially no reason. There really hould have been a delay with a warning or the SMB3 bowser fight should have taken place in another room. The final Bowser fight was not fun, since it was basically throwing SMB3 bombs at lakitus that kept spawing when one dies, which was pretty tedioud if you asked me. I don't understand why there was a random level area at the end though. It would have been more fitting if it was before the boss fight. But it was not really challenging. And the level overall was too easy. In terms of creativity, there was not really any. It was just the normal boss fights. You could have changed up the boss room a little to make it more challenging or unique. And the final fight could have maybe involved bowser doing different things to increase the difficulty of the boss instead of just being like 10 different lakitus that you have to defeat. And the level was bland. You should added BGOs to make the level look more interesting, and coins also help to make the level feel less empty.

So I would give this level a 2/10. It was not terrible, but it definitely could have done more interesting things and it could have had a less tedious finale.

IceQracker92 Reviews...
Bowser's Battle by Springy

Alrighty then, this is my first review of any kind of Super Mario Bros X level. I'm pretty rusty on reviewing on others' levels based on Super Mario Bros X, but for this particular level, I have found plenty of flaws that could definitely be fixable. This entire level may not be the best, but could have been much better than what I've played through.
The very first thing I've encountered were the mushrooms that are for you to take to begin with the level. Starting off with four mushrooms to begin within this level is not necessary, and it is therefore considered an NPC overload. The rest of this level was just the old boss donnybrooks that are only remade to have Bowser in it. It's so hard to understand why that is, but think original with your Bowser battles. The types of melees in this particular level evolve around Bowser, but none of these are original. You have four types of battles after collecting the horde of mushrooms:

1 - Bowser throws hammers and blasts flames
2 - Bowser throws spike balls at you for assistance
3 - Bowser acting like his koopaling named Ludwig
4 - Bowser SMB3 final battle

The first battle was technically pretty bad because you need to throw the spike ball (shoots from downward pipe) right at Bowser, not near it.
The second battle was also mediocre due to the fact when Bowser throws spike balls at you, they don't really damage you.
The third battle was okay, but way too easy.
The fourth battle in the section was not as expected. You have Bowser not pouncing at Mario, but instead the ceiling impedes Bowser's jump at times.

After the fourth battle, Bowser climbs into his clown car, but the SMW final battle was terrible. So you're left with bob-ombs that are re-skinned as the gizmos you throw up in the air. You constantly do that nine or so times, but then you have the ability to infinitely run across the screen. It is a huge no-no when making a SMW Bowser donnybrook.

The boss battle that was supposed to be before rescuing the princess never happened, and I never saw Bowser. I swear I've beaten this level, but when you are making levels like that, be sure to add BGOs and coins. That way, it will not make this level boring and pointless.

I award you, for the efforts you've put day in and day out on "Bowser's Battle", a 3/10. The finale was pretty tedious and such, and this could have been done much better had you add more to your level.

The only thing i like in this custom level was the 2nd bowser battle. At least it's a custom boss

I'll have to agree with Electriking that this level is not particularly good. Here is what I think after playing it:

- It feels like it lacks originality. I've personally seen these Bowser battles in many other SMBX levels. I do like the "Mouser" custom version of Bowser but all the rest of his forms felt predictable and not really that unique.
- Music was fitting, although there wasn't any music in some sections - was that in order to build up suspense prior to the battle?
- The bombs in Bowser's first form generate slowly and you need to wait for the next one which can take ages. Maybe if you reduce the generator time for the bombs (to 3ish seconds)?
- There was a cutoff for the brown brick blocks in the penultimate room (see attached pic)
Spoiler: show

- Speaking of the penultimate room, I never saw Bowser's big form chasing me there at all. I only saw it once I had finished the level and happened to spot him in the level editor. I simply hopped from platform to platform and pressed the red switch. When nothing happened for a few seconds, I went all the way back to the beginning of the section as I thought something opened there? Only to go back and find the final door. Please make sure that "Big Bowser" actually appears when players need to run away from him.
- I didn't really see the point of having 4 mushrooms at the start. Two would be more than enough.
- I do appreciate the fact that you've tried using custom backgrounds, blocks, enemies and Bowser forms. It could have been interesting if there was some dialogue coming from Bowser rather than just from the Princess.
- I know this is a battle-themed level but a few coins and backgrounds could've made it a bit livelier.

Overall, the level is OK for a Bowser battle one but it didn't at any point grab my attention or make me experience something unpredictable. It might be useful to think about how to make your level stand out from the other Bowser battles... I'd give this level a 4/10.
