This time, I present to you a custom sign that was inspired by the 1992 game Adventure Island.
It was completely shaded in SMB3 style and, while I'm not completely satisfied with the outcome, was pixeled by me, myself and I only.

I think it's interesting and I do like how rugged looking it is, although I do have to kind of agree with you about the outcome, as it does look somewhat odd. Plus, a suggestion would be to replace the lighting underneath it with some shade as the sign is supposed to be on the post, and the lighting just looks odd there.
