What do you think SMBX would be like had it existed today?

As in, what do you think the game would've been like if it'd never been discontinued by Nintendo and Redigit still worked on it, and where do you think it would be today?

This is something that I've always wondered ever since I discovered 1.0.3.1 and I'd like to know what you think would've happened. I personally think it would have more powerups and a better level creator, and maybe even some more playable characters, but that's just me.

Pretty shit, because Kevsoft would probably not have made LunaLua, and the superior and faster design through PGE wouldn't be possible.

If the community was really active and Redigit listened to the community, there could have been some really good improvements. The current version is very dated and there could have been some major upgrades if it wasn't shut down. The closest thing to an update now is LunaLua. PGE does have some massive backwards-compatibility issues with some of the world's I've tested on it, but it's level editor is a definate upgrade. I think the biggest factor would be if Redigit listened to the community. If he did, these kind of features could have been implemented, and we'd still be receiving updates now.

Smbx actually was supposed to be ended anyway. Redigit had already new plans when he was still working on smbx. He would have stopped working on it anyway as he wanted to make terraria later on.

So even if nintendo wouldn't have stopped it. He would have stopped it anyway.

Nothing would have changed. Terraria was already in development when SMBX was shut down.

probably much slower updates or the eventual discontinuing anyway. maybe smaller bug fixes. nothing major though.
