If the community was really active and Redigit listened to the community, there could have been some really good improvements. The current version is very dated and there could have been some major upgrades if it wasn't shut down. The closest thing to an update now is LunaLua. PGE does have some massive backwards-compatibility issues with some of the world's I've tested on it, but it's level editor is a definate upgrade. I think the biggest factor would be if Redigit listened to the community. If he did, these kind of features could have been implemented, and we'd still be receiving updates now.
