I mean I've put up a semi-open game twice and I've only gotten maybe one vote between the two.
Sure new mechanics are fun, heck I've played a game with a GAME BOARD and it went well.
However, simple games or games with only a few divergences force the players to make the game unique with their playstyle.

My game for this very poll had ballot-box, but only 2 other people voted for it, and one of those people then retracted their vote.

Yes, actually let's calm down a little. You clearly recognize that you went over the line PaperPlayer (which you did) so it's cool, but let's not freak out too much.

As far as I'm aware most of the "Dota Crew" or what have you aren't ass-kissers nor are most of them registered on this forum/situated with Mafia. The only five that are as far as I'm aware is me, Ragont, Nien, qig, and Khon. That's only half the votes. And besides, if they were supposed ass-kissers, why would they have voted for Ragont's game and not Nien's?

Ragont's votes are 2 ahead of the rest of the votes combined, so I'm going to call it here. He can make his sign-ups whenever he is ready.

I'll participate in Ragont's game anyways (since I've participated in every game since M6), but it'll feel different. I think it'll work out fine though.
