This is so great :D Pretty Nostalgic.
Will you also do a SMBX version of Super Mario Land 2? It's my favourite mario on gameboy.

Super Mario Land 2 Returns? I'll think about it.

Super Mario Land Returns 2.0 is confirmed as a project, and will be started after the release of the final version of SMBX 2.0.

Hello everybody! Today is my birthday! I hope that everyone is enjoying Super Mario Land Returns, and is excited for version 2.0. Not much has been done yet because I've been learning how to use lunalua, but once I do have something done. I will make sure to show it to you guys. Have fun!

Not sure if I have the latest version, or if some of these issues are because I'm currently at half the RAM I am supposed to have, but I just downloaded this today and have a few notes.

1. The "Warp to Mushroom Kingdom" has no exits if you can't get into any of the houses yet.
2. Mudo 1: Some water tiles are missing.
3. The music/sound kept glitching out.
4. In "The Sea", the ship's bullets bounce back and hurt the player! That's a nasty surprise!
5. Also in "The Sea", the "MARIO" coins pointed me upward, so I walked along top of level, but got stuck up there because of the single-directional scroll.
6. Overall the game is memory intensive; I was using all of the 4GB I'm stuck with at the moment.

But hey, thanks for making me want to start up my Game Boy again...

1. I don't know what you're talking about with the "Warp to Mushroom Kingdom" thing.
2. I think I know what you mean by the tiles.
3. The music I'm pretty sure shouldn't be a problem.
4. The bullets replace the Koopa shell. That's why that happens.
5. The up arrow is referring to the hidden star offspring. It has nothing to do with you swimming through the entire level offspring like that.

There is a slight upgrade that gives the game features that I was going to include for an update called Super Mario Land Returns All Stars. The upgrade even fixes some bugs, and the bullets for the Marine Pop are just bombs that don't bounce back. There are many bugs that are added to the game when doing that though, so I'd suggest you wait for Super Mario Land Returns 2.0. With the new update that I'm making, you should have absolutely nothing to worry about.

To all the people that are waiting patiently for SMLR 2.0, I've decided to take a break until summer break. I do want to show you guys some of the things that I have done though, so I will get that in soon.

Goodnight, and fuzzy pickles.

Couldn't the Marine Pop bullets be shells with noblockcollision=1?

If I did do that, then yo cannot break brick blocks or open ? blocks with the bullets. I want the bullets to be able to do that like in the original Super Mario Land. I'll see if I can make it better with LunaLua, and add it to version 2.0.

Just simply take all of the files that are in the patch, and dump them into the Super Mario Land Returns folder that you put in your worlds folder. You need to click on move and replace so the old level and world files are overwritten.

I swear that no viruses actually come with the game. I was a 12 when I made this game, so I had no way to add viruses. I haven't seen any major bugs with the patch. You're computer must of had something bad on it before you downloaded my game. I recommend you reset your computer to factory settings, and then try to play my game. If your still not satisfied with SMLR, then wait for version 2.0.
