4 players would be too chaotic, let alone technically - you have to connect 4 devices and everyone has to sit tight together watching the screen.
Yeah there also used to be online multiplayer but it never worked reliably so I don't consider it.
The idea of disabling split screen is quite interesting; Wii and U multiplayer also work like that. However in 2-player SMBX both players used to share the same life counter, so that would need to be changed too.

4 players seems fun at first, but speaking from experience with playing 2D Mario platformers it would be much harder to complete a level with 4 people running around than with just 1. Someone could get in the way and cause another player to die, whether on purpose or accidental.

I have an idea for SMBX2 1.0.0
A COMPLETE REHAUL OF THE PATH SYSTEM
Instead of paths being tied to adjacent paths / levels, the paths will have a bigger menu, containing an area for adding levels. Then, you can decide whether it activates if one or all of the conditions are met. Images coming soon with an example.

The "New World Map System" is on the roadmap.

Edit: here are the examples

Bottom one if the red OR yellow levels OR neither are completed
Top one if the red AND yellow levels are completed

After I have seen what is in the "roadmap", I assume - as I expected - that it will take further months until 2.0.0 is finished.

I don't rule out that this will be done until the end of next year.

But of course: This version will also be ready at some point. :)

I continue to wait patiently and with joy for this version. :)

Not sure if this bug has been reported yet:

After mounting a Purple Yoshi and performing a ground slam, players cannot enter clear pipes after dismounting them to do so. Players can enter clear pipes normally after a warp transition (door, pipe, instant) within the same level until they ground pound again with yoshi.

So would that be a case of the ground pound code not cleaning its data properly?

Wait... we can change the subject?!?!

Wow!

Let's just not change subject (SMBX2 BETA 4 RELEASE POST)

I was going to ask, will the title screen will be like the 1.3.0.1 version in which there are AI controlled players?

The title screen will be gone entirely. It's effectively totally obsolete as it is.

WDYM??

Guess it means that the game will be only started from the launcher, and you'll also return there if you exit?

Aw man, that sucks. I've always thought the title screen looked really cool.

I agree. I think it should be optional. Just my thoughts. On for those that want it, off otherwise.
I also think that the end quote in the credits should be replaced with Ezekiel 23:20, but that might not pander well for some, lolz
