I'm just going to say this. SMBX is much better than super mario maker. Eventually pge could be better than it too.

My Opinions About Super Mario Maker

I picked up SMM on release day,and I have to say,I've become obsessed with it.Now,obviously a lot of people think that SMBX in much better than SMM because of the variety of objects and enemies you can use,as well as being able to fully customise Graphics and NPCS.But why does a larger amount of items make SMBX better than SMM?My opinion;it doesn't.SMBX has a lot that SMM doesn't have, but SMM has a lot that SMBX doesn't have too.
For example:
Chain Chomps
Better,more User-friendly layout
Designed to appeal to New Players more
Easy level sharing
Many more users
GIANT BOWSERS.
100 Playables.
And yeah, those are just a couple. So,I actually think SMM is better than SMBX,and I have to say I've had much more fun with it than I ever did with SMBX.
But yeah,it's just an opinion,so don't get your mushrooms in a twist.

For me, the main thing about Super Mario Maker is that Nintendo is obligated to make sure it runs properly 100% of the time.

I was going to say, Nintendo tasked themselves to make a game where game designing itself is fun. I think they succeeded. SMM is designed for ease of use and fulfills enjoyment for both player and designer (as the designers are also playing by designing).

Experimentation is also much, much easier. If Nintendo doesn't keep up with this brand I can see the general homebrew Mario community spawning more great ideas from Mario Maker's design philosophy and I think either way, everyone wins.

Don't forget downsides like NSMBU is a bit changed in the animation department.
Ahh, but you must also understand that SMBX/PGE also has upsides as well:
Customizable Sections in Any Direction
Starting Point can be Anywhere, Same with the Goal Point
SMB2
Not Limited
World Map Creation (Now Without Limits)
Instead of Area/Sub-Area, 21 sections/Unlimited Sections
SLOPES (I tried, there is no slope in SMM)
Don't Like the Graphics? Change it Yourself to Something Else
Varieties in Powerups (Not Instantly a Fireflower)
More Advanced Level Properties (Including those not in SMM, like No Turn Back
More than just Mario 24/7
I can see that the user-base is beyond the charts, but that's mostly because it's Mario related, and it's the first Maker ever presented by Nintendo for Mario to the public. Even then, if they don't get some stuff added/fixed, like the NSMBU animations and slopes, even a third area to work with, I'll be out of it like I was with Smash Brothers. That SMM stage had more to offer than the actual game, which is terrible on both parts. Opinion is over, rant is over, I'll be over to finish world 1 of a PGE project soon. :]

And tiered power-ups too! It's great that Nintendo is listening to its fans this time around.

...is there anybody who actually denies the fact that SMBX is a much more full-featured and customizable level editor? Like, seriously, can we move on from the "SMBX vs. Mario Maker" argument? Why was that even an argument in the first place? It's clear they both have their strengths and weaknesses as editors.

Not looking forward to reuploading/editing my levels with the new features, but I'm glad to see checkpoints.
