ALSO NO SLOPES
You don't need slopes. You can get a lot of stars if you do this:

- Be from Japan
- Make a Parakoopa only jump level
- Make a trampoline level
- Make a plattform jump level
- Spam Lakitus
- Spam any kind of npc
- Be from Japan
- Make a automatic level
So true it hurts.

Currently most of the star ranking people are those who made automatic levels.

Thats sad isn't it?

What about, Post your level codes on the forum? Isn't THAT a good way to get stars?
Even if it's not, those are so true. But you're also forgetting a few more more:

-Have made a level before the game was offically released
-Be GameXplain
-Be any Youtuber that had the game before it was released
-Be fucking GameXplain

That doesn't really help either.

I feel like we need some sort of Community Contest for Mario Maker levels. It'd bring more attention to our own levels and give us something else to do with the editor.
Also, this is a semi-unrelated question, is there a way to set levels to be private, so that only people with the code can find it?

Something I originally wrote on reddit but feel like sharing here as well:

Don't hesitate to star a level if you think the creator tried to make a somewhat serious level.

Starring does literally no harm, and it helps people upload more levels. If you felt like a level was crafted with care and effort, star it. Even if you didn't quite enjoy it but you can see that the creator tried his best, star it. Imo the only levels you shouldn't star are spammy levels or bland levels.

Would be cool if more people would do that instead of starring all the automatic post so they stay in the big spotlight for a long time. I mean sure the creator may have tried his best but.. you can't really enjoy them after the first time.

Yeah, this post deserves a star. Stars help everybody and hurt no one.

Of course! Well, think about it! Don't you think Valtteri deserves to work at Nintendo for doing a Nintendo-quality job, doing stuff he'd do anyways?

Valtteri isn't qualified to be a janitor at Nintendo tbh.

If they were going to hire anyone AT ALL, I'd think it would be Redigit. However, we know what happened there.

Anyway, I love the stuff people are doing with this game. Just looking at various levels online, it seems like people are going further away from Mario level design conventions than even what we've done with SMBX.

Mario Maker was released, and the world died.
The end.

I don't even own the game and ideas are coming.

I think there should be a compilation video of the most ridiculous avoidable deaths in this game by people who have posted gameplay online. The background music should be the song "Walking In The Air"

Also... enjoy:
Spoiler: show
(Video was edited, so it might be a bit misleading.)

ya cuz nintendo would totally hire no-professional-graphic-designer-profile people to make graphics in paint.net
