I saw there was a poll that got removed and personally, I'd say the levels are fine, the bosses may need some work.

If anything it was quite easy for me. Even without power-ups I guess.

Under construction.
After getting some good feedback from Cato Wong I know what this episode needs now. ETA 2 weeks for update.
Would be interesting to see what's changing. He should finish his playthrough tomorrow I guess.

He's removed it until posting another update. (not a very nice way, guess you have to be a bit patient)

Also stageleft, can you provide a history of all changes / versions if possible?

TheNewGuy you are right! all boss battles are getting something done to them, and about 10 more are being included.

Eri7 I apologize for the wait, it just seems necessary at this point to really hammer in some essential content to make the episode more enjoyable. Cato did a great job at pointing out flaws with his impatient manner, and it helped me to see what its lacking from watching someone else's perspective. When I release the update it should be well worth the wait. Shouldn't be too long, maybe 2-3 weeks...a month at the longest. I need the extra time because I'm making a lot of new npc's and adding story content. It'll be a big difference.

Cedur, if you think a change log history would be useful I will start compiling that. I'll update that onto here soon. I'm going to take your advice and remove the saw in the kaizo stage to allow use of yoshi as well.

When this episode's development will finally be called closed, I'll make a wiki article, that's why I asked for the history.

Ah I see now. You got me interested to do the math on this so here it is, took about a half hour to calculate. Added some extra info that doesn't need to be used.
This should be my last post here until the episode is done.
Spoiler: show
Worked off and on over the course of 4 years. Estimated 3000 hours of work.

Grant Atlas (Wander the mind of Wart) - First version, joke episode, dream levels, heavily SMB 2 influenced. - (2 months work 2016)
Grant Atlus (Wart's Subsidized Dreamworld)- Second edition, still joke episode, bizzare levels tons of clash - (1 month work 2016)
A Mushroom Masterpiece - Starting to get serious and begin clash overhaul adding levels ect - (2 months work, then added 2 months of polish 2016)
Warp Gauntlet - Attempt at no world map episode conversion (abandoned) - (A few days work 2017)
Mario & The Mushroom Genie - 5th revamp of the episode, added story, still weak - (1 month work 2018 )
Mystic Atlus - Episodes with 1 person working on them take more time than expected - (2 months work 2019)
Mystic Atlus - Watched Cato Wong's playthrough, now pushing into hopefully final form - (5 days work on it so far)

Eri7 sorry for the wait you are likely caught up in another episode now. It's ready ready to play though.
Cedur you might enjoy this final version.

The change log started getting so huge I just scrapped it altogether. The changes substantially correct the flow of the game almost every level was touched up in at least some small way. I think, 15ish boss fights were included or remodeled. That was a lot of hours of work! The Map has been tweaked slightly too so its worth starting a new game.

After just spending a solid hour and a half playing this episode... I'm just confused.

I'll start off by saying that I really liked the aesthetics of the World Map, despite a few tiling errors here and there. I found it interesting that it branched off into multiple different paths, and I played about 10-12 levels from each.

Moving past the world map, and after reading some of the comments, I feel like I'm misunderstanding the goal of this episode. Most levels I have encountered have been very short, with 6-7 tile-sets compacted into one level. The aesthetics in some of these levels were weird, as graphics were being used from multiple games in one level. The game-play, in my opinion, left very bland, with very little diversity. I managed to only die 3 times in about 36 levels played.

I think I'll be moving onto something else, but this was a very... interesting play. Maybe I'll come back to this episode in the future, but for now I"ll be putting this one to the side. (I tried to be as nice as I could, and not let my current mood shove anger into this)

You should not, because the episode is getting better and better the further you progress. The phenomenal levels are mostly / all in later worlds. The first levels are too short I know, something I tried to voice like 3 times but it has never been adressed, but that's not representative for the whole episode.
MarcusG144 wrote:I managed to only die 3 times in about 36 levels played.

How is that bad? And yeah the plot is vague, the episode would be better with no plot at all.

Alright, if you insist. You are a more experienced user here, so I will give it another play. Thanks for the clarification :)
