Like, at what speed are you expecting development to progress?

Remember, the development team are humans and not robots that work 24/7 on this hobby project. In other words, they will be busy with their own things quite often and SMBX would basically not even be on their top priority lists.
Also, while it can be nice to get news about development from time to time, it isn't something that can be rushed.

Because they aren't ready yet. You can follow the development if you want on the codehaus Discord server for more information on progress

And while the blog is down I can hardly make a blog post...
The active development team has been swaying between 1 and 3 people for the past 8 months or so. Things are picking up a bit as we enter the new year though.
For the best measure of progress compare the state of the NPC checklist from September with today.

The Codehaus Discord server. You can follow progress, submit suggestions / give feedback, and can even get help with your own projects. You can post suggestions here but it would be easier to do it in the discord server as responses will come faster.

You can suggest things in this thread, however they're unlikely to be implemented before Beta4 at this point. Also please check the claims sheet before making suggestions

I feel that if you guys were to add Sonic as a playable character you should base his physics more on the Master System and Game Gear games since the physics in that game are more simple and 8-bit Sonic 1 has level design that would be at home with Mario.

I totally agree. But with the sprites of the Pocket Adventure game.

I doubt sonic would ever get added to the game because the physics engine currently used wouldn't support it (this has been mentioned multiple times before too) so don't get too excited now.
Also, page 200 HYPE!!!

That wouldn't happen until some point after the full release of SMBX2, if ever, and would pretty much require a full rewrite of the SMBX physics engine to implement Sonic

where are the settings for the npc for example yoshi wings, flying, or lakitu AI and

etc
I think stuff like that is limited to .lvlx files. Support for those will be added in beta 4.

No. This is not coming in beta 4. I don't know where they got the idea that these things were part of the engine.

I believe this is 38A stuff. None of these settings exist in the PGE editor at all (features that are greyed out are .lvlx features iirc). So these won't arrive in beta 4 regardless of .lvlx support for the engine in that version.
Also looks like we may need a pit of 200 pages sub-forum for the archives now.
