I wouldn't be too surprised if we could, considering that you can do so for various unlockables/events in other Nintendo games. I also have my doubts on that aspect, as well. The game could very well run under its own timed unlock schedule so you can't get away with a time bypass on your system.

They'll probably take the Splatoon approach in terms of unlocking things, where everything's ready and they just send out a command to unlock them online

except if this is how the unlocks work it would lock 90% of the games featureset to anyone who doesn't have their wii u connected online.

The way you unlock things is by making levels.

no it's not, it is by per-day of gameplay. So on Day 1 you can only use the default tools. On day 2 you unlock more tools. On Day 3 you unlock more tools. Etc., Etc..

You have to make levels using the tools they give you to toggle the unlock for the next day, at least, that's what I'm getting from the video.

You have to play for like 5 mins with the tools so the next ones are unlocked on the next day.

I just watched an IGN thing and found that there are a few features not available in SMBX,swimming goombas, flaming lava Cheeps, and the Boo Clock. But your right about it being stupid beyond that.

Lava Cheeps are just sprite-swaps of regular jumping Cheep-Cheeps afaik.

How alive will SMBX be after Super Mario Maker (SMM)

I'm sure you all have heard of it. I know how long this game existed, i just never decided to make an account until now. Will this game die or what?

SMBX tecnically isn't really dead but more on a standstill... well actually SMBX is usually dead because it never updates until VSMBX or PGE will be our next successor in the future. Even if SMM will be a thing, SMBX will still be a thing aswell.

Seeing how much thing SMBX has than Super Mario Maker I don't see why it should die.
Oh wait, it already died, since the creator left it.

Well tecnically it's not dead since videos are still a thing apparently... you get the idea.

Well, sometimes it's the new people that that seem to just go for the quit on SMBX. Some of us(like me) will just try SMM, despite of its lack of expected things(my ex: slopes and length). Yeah then I'll get bored of SMM because there aren't any events.
Also, custom SMM sound effects, PLEASE NO(unless if it's rickroll music or something not related to swearing).
