It should take as long as is necessary to determine that the review isn't falsifying anything. It still saves the reviewer time from writing the actual review, and I'd argue that that part can be more time consuming than playing the level itself.

The problem is that reviews are opinionated. One person sees a level as shit but another could see it as really nice. It's a flaw in the current system and could be even more of one in the suggested system.

Which is why I thought the Super Mario Flash Forum's way of reviewing is one of the better ways. The level would need at least 3-5 reviews in the same level category (Best, Pretty Good, Average, Trash Can) and the Level Judges would count as 2 reviews. Basically, anybody's review would count as long as the reviews make sense.

There is also an SMW version called Super Mario Flash 2. It's nice, with new gimmicks and such. Alas, I have been unable to find it.

Yup I remember smf. I made a few levels on it. They weren't that good though... And yes the voting thing was very realistic.

Bad thing is when i looked into the forum from them it looks plain spammy now then before and they even posted porn images on it(lol Frozen porn).

But we don't really should copy the review style from them.

I agree. But even if we put this idea forward, we could have scenarios of the LJs not reviewing the review based on the review itself, but by what the reviewer and the judge agree on. It would have to be based on the review itself and it's contest, not about what the LJ thinks.

The sad thing is that forum used to be very strict about keeping it child friendly (they'd hand out PMs and warnings to cussing) and within a 1 1/2 year span it just went spiraling downhill.

I don't see why we can't use their level system. The amount of productivity of their level judges (or level raters/moderators) was doubled, as well as the time they stayed in their positions, while it was still a stable community. That should show that their system obviously worked better than how ours does now.

I agree. Someone gave a 2/10 for a level because they "just didn't find the level design or gameplay fun". If you're not implementing this rule, please at least change "The Trash Can" to something less insulting. I've seen at least two first levels put in there.

Levels in Pretty Good and even The Best need improvement.

I like the idea of everyone's review counting as 1, but LJ's reviews count as 2-3.
However, I think the subsections should be called/rated:

The Best Levels (8.5-10)
Pretty Good Levels (6.5-8.4)
Decent Levels (4.5-6.4)
Meh Levels (2.5-4.4)
Needs Improvement (0.5-2.4)
Block Bollocks (0-0.4)

Though i agree with this, i still feel as if this will still take too long to adequately review all levels, especially if everyones opinions are all over the place. Wasn't the idea to try and speed up level reviewing? Maybe them 3-5 reviews might be enough and can be rounded to get the right placement for each level.
