This. Besides, the probabilities of this being some kind of joke aren't that low either. Even if they are truly making a Mario Editor, that doesn't mean it shall have a lot more stuff than SMBX, or that it may even contain any stuff beyond SMB.

They should make a SMB1/SMB3 editor, but make it like SMBX and let there be no limitations to what it originally had. I hope it isn't in the form of a booth. This would be great to have on the Wii U.

FWIW I think I saw a Paragoomba in the poster.
I think you mean the Goomba who holds up the other 2 right? Because yeah it looks like he has wings.

If this is true I can only hope they don't dumb it down.
As much as I love SMBX I'd love an official Nintendo editor even more if it was at least on par with SMBX.
But how I see it happening is it'll be way too simple and you won't be able to make anything advanced or creative. Your tools will be very limited and there will be hardly any customization.
Most likely I'll skip this and stick with good old SMBX.

This will be interesting but no idea how it will look like if there is an actual Game for it. I am prepared but if it's just a sand alone game and nothing to do with home consoles then... you know.

This game will be coming out somewhere at 2015, so that is really true for having a REAL Mario Maker on our way to have.

I didn't want them to make a SMB1 level editor, but having graphics of NSMB caliber is incredible. They still have to show us the full power of Mario Maker since I don't even think they showed vertical scrolling yet.

Well, it is still at the earlier development (Juny 2014) and the release will be at 2015 so better wait. There will be a lot of stuff putting into it.

I want you to take a moment to ask yourself:
Why did you think this was going to be anything cool?

You're judging a game that is probably in very early development.

First impressions are everything.
But yeah, I'll have to wait until next year to see if it gets more interesting than that smb1 engine I have.

Features currently confirmed for Mario Maker:
- Ability to switch from SMB to NSMB U visuals with one tap of an icon. Sounds also change depending on the visuals.
- Player can add wings to any enemy they want.
- Player can edit in real time and pause the game.
- You can pile up enemies.
- Working autoscroll.
- Moving platforms.
- NPC's including Koopa, Goomba, Hammer Bro, shells, spring boards, platforms, plants and winged enemies.
- Mario Paint-like mechanics.
- Some sort of minimap for the level (could be the map of the specific world, not sure).
- Possible generators (goomba coming out of a pipe as reference).
