Just using paint.net would fix a lot of those problems. That's also the software PikaChris used in his tutorial, so that's why it may not work if you're not using paint.net.

I've made a new tutorial where I only use Paint.NET so here. This might be more helpful for you.
Is there a version of Paint.NET that is compatible with a Windows XP computer (that I bought in 2008 or something)?
What I mean is that I am stuck with Gimp 2.8 and I tried to get the latest version and that version said that it wasn't compatible.
Edit:I may remake most of these and i'll post a screenshot of it (Or a screenshot of screenshots).

I got this for Windows 8 and it's compatible for that (maybe because I have v4.0.3). I've also known that older versions prior to Windows 8 and Paint.NET v4.0.3 are compatible with Windows 7 so maybe it's best to find an older version of Paint.NET (unless you downloaded it recently from the website) if you have Windows XP because I'm not sure whether or not v4.0.3 is compatible with that (I'm just not really knowledgeable about it).
I will start remaking these starting with Bomah, the character I made that everyone calls him "Black Orb".
Barney and Dark Ness are pretty old so they will be next.
And I was wrong, my computer is a Windows Visita.
Edit: How did this get so many views during the Memorial day weekend?! Was it the Edd and Tom Npcs I did?

Vista is outdated; I suggest you upgrade to a newer model like 7, and possibly get a new computer.
I know that I made alot of bad GFX in this.
But I am making better ones now so here is a preview.
I am trying to do some serious stuff so I might have difficulty on working this and the other stuff I am doing.

I am guessing it's the Villager and the background that is 1x1 pixels.
That was my first atempt on making a background so of course it is crappy.
The Villager was already a couple of months old now....
And the "Black orb thing" is now bigger and uses more colors.
Barney is very difficult, but I am working on him.
That's because the ground is a recolored version of the Smb2 (Japan) ground tileset.
I was thinking of a set of ground that would fit during a boss battle against Bomah "The black orb thing".
I would say if the Villager (not in the background) is SMB3 styled, i would say its one of your better rips. I think the SMB2 floor has been ripped before, i don't know who did it though.

I could make him SMB3 styled, and I didn't make the SMB2 floor.
That was shown because I didn't make another tileset yet.
The GFX for Villager is from a sprite sheet I found.
I would also think of making SMB3 and SMW recolors by the way.
Important update:
It has been at least over a month since I posted here.
I am going to make new graphics in this and now that I learned two things which are:
1) The sprite sheet must be resized by 200% as a png, not a gif.
2) I could try a new trick with a ? block to hopefully get rid the cutoff in some of these gfx.
However, due to many other things, the redone version will be relased on January, 2016.
