I think he's talking about how unintuitive smbx's layer attaching is.

Look back a few posts, maybe then it will make sense.

While I don't expect anything too big from Mario Maker, I feel like Nintendo can give this game a ton more potential. Its already good, if not great. I'll give them that, but just imagine what we may not even know yet. I remember some time after Super Mario 3D World's release, Miyamoto(or Iwata, I don't quite remember the details exactly) had commented in an interview that "a new Mario game is in the works". I'm lead to believe that this is that game, and again, while I don't expect this game to be any more massive than it is, it could hint that it just may be. Just imagine it. There could be a lot of unseen content that we could not even fathom yet.
I have a theory. What if each skin had unique blocks, items, enemies, platforms, and attributes unique to that game. The theory itself isn't crazy, considering that the Super Leaf and Roulette Goal were present in that SMB3 level at the end of the recent trailer. Another fact to back up this theory is that the SMW Koopa Troopas do indeed become Beach Koopas upon stomping on them. This leads me to think that we can switch between not only attributes unique to their respective games, but newer ones as well. A notable newer attribute in an older game would be the Mega Goomba Towers in SMB3 splitting into smaller Goombas upon stomping on them.
Now lets go back to power-ups very quick. The Super Leaf appeared in the SMB3 level at the end of the trailer. What if the Cape Feather and Flying Squirrel Acorn appeared in their respective games as well? Better yet, what if we saw Ice Flowers, Hammer Suits, Frog Suits, or even Yoshi? The same could be said about enemies. What if you could add Sumo Bros or Fire Chomps into your NSMBU level? Yeah, that would be cool. Now if these things were possible, there would have to be some kind of way to keep them separated. What I mean by this is maybe the Super Leaf wouldn't appear where say, the Super Acorn would.
If you still don't understand:
SMB3 <------ Super Leaf ------X NSMBU
SMB3 X------ Super Acorn ------> NSMBU
...meaning that these items would be exclusive to those skins. Lets say one of those items appeared in your level. If I'm right, the item would either be replaced by the respective one or not appear at all in that level skin.
Now remember, this is only a theory and should not be taken seriously.

*Taken seriously
That would be a awesome concept though. I had a thought, what if you could change the graphical style in the middle of levels, as in they happen automatically when you reach a certain spot. Disorienting I know, but the preview gave me that idea.
@Yoshibrothers Despite that I think your concept would be awesome, I doubt its gonna work that way. Pretty sure they're gonna make it so that all enemies, powerups, blocks etc are compatible with all graphical styles. Especially powerup wise as the different incarnations of the flying powerups work differently. They could all be there, but they shouldn't replace each other. Also add the possibility that you might be able to change the graphical style yourself while playing, it would make even less sense to replace the powerups as well.

This level editor seems to have a high amount of promise, but I'm curious as to how levels will be shared throughout the community.
For a long time I've wanted to see a Little Big Planet type of Mario level editor/game on the internet. Something where you play a story, create levels, share them, and play other player's levels. Super Mario Uprising almost sounded promising, but then the creator explained that it'd be more of an MMORPG with random enemy encounters and stuff, which would work for a Mario RPG, not a platformer!
Hell, I've been working on something for a while now since no ones taken action into this route. I'm working on a Mario game with gameplay styled similar to the Super Mario 3D World game, and the graphics are made from voxels so the game has a unique look! It'd include a main story, a level editor, and a community where you could share levels and play other player's level. The basic game would include online multiplayer too, but I haven't gotten most of the concepts out yet.
I really hope that Mario Maker works out in the end, I can't wait to see what kind of levels people will make.

Interested.
Honestly, I thought this was going to be pretty good once it was first announced, and judging by the latest trailer, it actually looks like Nintendo might be pulling all the stops on this.I was expecting something extremely basic in terms of available tiles, NPCs etc, but this seems a little more in depth while keeping user friendly especially for younger kids. I have a feeling that there's even more in Mario Maker that they haven't shown us yet, though we won't know until it's released now though.

Agreed. From the games I've seen pop up this past year, the Wii U sure has the horsepower for Mario Maker to be bigger than it appears to be.

I really enjoyed the World Premiere Trailer for Mario Maker.
You can use 4 GFX styles to play
They finally have a fire flower.
Levels can be more vertical now!!!
You can ride on clouds
Goal points change depending which game's GFX you're using
You can place npc's into bullet bill blasters.
You can place npc's into ? blocks.
A lot of stuff. I can't wait for it. It looks waaaayyyy better than the E3 demo.

SMW is pretty cool for it. I am liking everything I'm seeing with this. I just hope that you can upload levels to the net for everyone to play, or make full levels. Then you could essentially make your own mario, already like we are, except out of something officially Nintendo.

I hate watching GameExplain for things like this, they make so many good points and come up up with some really valid ideas. It makes me want this, uh...game?, editor? even more. I'll be pre-ordering this as soon as I can.

And you... hate them for that? Or is there something I'm missing? I'm a little lost, so sorry if I seem like an idiot.

Sorry, that's my sarcasm, I don't hate them, GameExplain is awesome.
