Hello. I can't play this game with sound on, because it crashes, so I want to ask what codec pack do you use to play SMBX?

We don't use any coded pack, the fact that you can't play smbx with sounds is only your problem. By the way, I don't know what causes this, since I didn't ever have this kind of problem. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling smbx would work?

I don't think so, because it worked before it was starting to crash. I think that it might be a problem with codecs, or some plugins maybe

What are your PC specs? Just wondering, because SMBX's requirements are:
OS : Windows 95, 98, XP, Vista, or Windows 7
Processor : 1.8 GHz
Memory : 512 (1024 for Windows Vista and Windows 7)
Graphics : 128 MB Videocard
Hardrive Space : 150 MB
Mouse and Keyboard Required
Gampads/Joysticks (Optional)

All my PC specs are fine, just graphic card is piece of crap(32mb). But game works ONLY if I will disable sound, so it has to do with some audio plugins or codecs. I have to keep searching a solution for this

If you have any codecs installed currently, uninstall them. Codecs + SMBX = Crashing.

Control Panel > Programs and Features
You'll have to look for it in there.

OK I've deleted some K-Lite codecs, but game still crashes Am I missing something or something is not cooperating with SMBX? :<

Again, post your PC specs (specifically the amount of RAM).
SMBX takes less memory when sound is turned off, and I'm guessing this is a factor in your issue.
Source: I had this issue a few years ago.

No one here (as far as I know) use Audio Codecs because they do not work with SMBX.

Control panel, Programs, Uninstall a program, search for your codecs then uninstall them.

YEAH! I got it! It was not fault of codecs. I had installed long ago a program Sony SoundForge. I searched all audio programs to unistall and only it was left. After I uinstalled Sony Soundforge game is working like a charm! Thanks to all for answers!
