"Invalid picture"

Postby TheProKittyRemixer » Fri Oct 17, 2014 2:45 pm

When I tried to put a cannon over a block, or the SMW Beta Koopa over the SMB3 Green Koopa, I tried loading the episode but it said "invalid picture."
I didn't get it. It was a .gif, and nothing was wrong it. Help me, please.

Maybe it has too many bytes to load it in SMBX properly. Let me guess, it has to do with this type of error: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... lid#p32792

Yes, it actually does. My file is 1.72 KB 1.75 KB, is that too much?
Oh, and here's an image:

As I see, this sprite you showed to us is a Mask and it also has "transparency" at the spots where the graphic normally isn't showing in SMBX which is normally a bad way to do. In order to fix the Mask that you showed to us, make sure that everything that will be shown in the Game (like the whole Koopa Sprite) black and the other one that is just blank (where it is empty, aka no Koopa) white. Make sure that this Mask Image is on .gif or else it won't work since SMBX can only search for GIF Files.

Yeah, it had a mask and all, I just took one from the internet, which wasn't masked.
Oh, it was a GIF as well. The bites are 1.75, and the mask part with the whole koopa black, I did. What could be wrong?

If I opened that Image via Paint.NET (another Paint Program that you can download) and if I look closer, this is the result:

Image

If you look closely at the grid at the background, that means it has a 100% transparency (means anything that is in the grid gets invisible in the Image/Graphic once it is saved) which tecnically in SMBX isn't really supported with transparency like this...

Here is what is should normally look by default that is 100% fully functional in SMBX:

Image

Black = Seen/Visible
White = Unseen/Invisible

I know, I put it how it's supposed to be. Everything around the koopa is black, and in the other picture the koopa is black and everything around it is white..
What can POSSIBLY be wrong?
(Also I have Paint.NET, and that's what I made)

Well then, did you tried that change-up in SMBX if it works? If it still doesn't work you have to give the File to the puplic or via PM so we can look further into your problems.

Change-up? If it's the transparent one fix, then I had done it in the first place, as seen below:
npc-4.png
And the other one I did as well.

"npc-4.png" I see. You have to make that file into a .gif file in order to work... as I said before.

Oh, yeah, I made another file as a .PNG file to upload the attachment. That's why it's PNG.
