The SMBX community has been around for about 4-5 years now. Throughout this time, many threads relating to SMBX have been created on various SMBX related forums. Out of all of them, which has been your favorite, least favorite, or simply most memorable thread and why? If the thread doesn't exist anymore, give a brief summary of what the thread was about.

I'll go first: my personal favorite thread is Level Contest 8: DarkMatt Plays Your Levels and Insults You because we all got to see just how little DarkMatt actually knows about SMBX (and it was hilarious):

SMB2 Bob-ombs have always worked like this. If it were sprite-swapped to look like an SMB3 Bob-omb, then this would be a reasonable criticism.

To be fair, not everyone new to SMBX would be able to figure out that you can move while ducking while wearing a shoe, but I don't think DarkMatt is new to SMBX.

Why spin-jump there? Spin-jumping in SMBX never gives enough bounce to make those kinds of jumps, and it's pretty obvious that the water isn't actually water since the deadweight NPCs aren't splashing, meaning that normal-jumping on the fish isn't lethal.

A bit of a delayed reaction there, eh?

This isn't Dragonmaster146's Thriller; that shell was well choreographed, even after it was kicked. I'm beginning to think that DarkMatt just sucks at avoiding kicked shells but refuses to admit it and blames the level designers instead.

My least favorite thread would probably have to be the SMBX Screenshots/Videos Thread(s) because I honestly don't see the point of posting a screenshot out-of-context like that, especially since there's a rule against advertising (meaning you can't say "this screenshot is from this project/level/episode which is at this link).

Finally, my most memorable thread would be my "Staff Discussion Thread" because it's currently the only thread I've started that got locked.
Of course, it would be ironic if this thread ended up getting locked as well.

"The Story of SMBX" on the Knuxforums, written by castlewars I think, was a great topic. It summarized the community's history pretty well.

And then there was "love your fellow community member" a few months ago by Knux. That topic had a great message, I think, though I don't know how serious it was.

Someone who was a dupe account made some level "Grassy Grasslands" or whatever on knuxforums. I remember downloading it and posting a screenshot before Danny yelled at me for "making him lazy".

I still don't really see the point of it, though. If I wanted to check out what new projects/levels/episodes are out, I'd go to the respective sub-forum. If someone was a fan of said project/level/episode and wanted to show support...isn't that what banners and signatures are for?

Thanks, Pseudo! Also, my only problem with the screenshots thread is that there's not enough discussion that goes on and more of just people wanting to share their own screenshots. The "What are you listening to thread?" had the same problem but it was bad enough (or fixable enough, maybe) that we created the current "Music Discussion Thread" to promote more discussion.

The point of the screenshots thread isn't to advertise your projects. It serves as a kind of image thread for SMBX. You share interesting screencaps from SMBX.

Does anyone remember the Yoshi voting topic on the original forums? Redigit wanted to add a new, original Yoshi color to the game for 1.2, and he created a voting process in which anyone could submit a Yoshi color and eventually a poll was put up with the more popular choices. The Ice Yoshi was the one that made the cut.

I remember my submission being Brown Yoshi, which could spit out any enemy it swallowed to use as a weapon, like when Luigi rides Yoshi in SMA2. I still think it was a good idea, but it'd be redundant alongside the Ice Yoshi.

I'll be honest, Aptuttle was right at the time when Darkmatt used to do that, (and don't say he didn't abuse his power cause its only gonna led to another thread like that one) he stopped though and it was a good thread to be honest. Even though he insulted me a couple of times.

LATER THAT YEAR, MASTERX (NEGU) LOGGED INTO QIG'S ACCOUNT AFTER RUMOURS OF A USER (WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS) TO CHANGE HIS/HER PASS,
IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE DIRECT LINK TO THE CODE. NEGOTIATIONS WERE MADE ON THE 21ST OF NOVEMBER, 2011 WITH NEGU NOT TO USE THE CODE.
HOWEVER, LATER INFO SUGGESTED THAT NEGU ATTEMPTED TO ENABLE TO CODE ON KNUCKLES96 FORUMS . THIS CREATED THE BROKEN FORUM ISSUE - WHICH
KNUCKLES96 LIED ABOUT.

IN SEPTEMBER 2013, JOEY, ATTEMPTED TO OBTAIN THE CODE, AFTER HE WAS INFORMED IT EXISTED.
WITH TOOLS - HE HACKED INTO KNUCKLES96'S ACCOUNT. OBTAINED THE CODE DATA FROM
THE ACP & THE CODE ITSELF FROM THE ANONYMOUS USER. DELETED ADMIN LOGS TO DISPOSE OF THE EVIDENCE. THIS REMAINED UNKNOWN
UNTIL OCTOBER.

IN OCTOBER AFTER AN ARGUMENT, JOEY DELETED THE ADVENTURES OF KNUX SUB-FORUM. IT IS CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT BY
KNUCKLES96 - LIES. (KNUCKLES96 WAS AWARE HIS FORUMS HAD BEEN DELETED, BUT NOT THAT IT WAS JOEY)

BY THIS POINT, THE SMBX HIGHER RANKS WERE AWARE OF JOEY OBTAINING THE CODE.

IN 2013, KNUCKLES96, AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE HIGHER RANKS, AGREED WITH JOEY TO CREATE A NEW FORUM. ON THE 1ST OF JANUARY 2014, IT WAS
REVEALED TO KNUCKLES96 THAT JOEY WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELETION OF HIS FORUMS. IN ANGER, KNUCKLES96 RETURNED THE FAVOUR.

LATER, DEVELOPMENT FOR A NEW VERSION OF SMBX WAS IN THE WORKS. 1.3.0.1 WAS RELEASED, TO "TEST" DOWNLOAD FIGURES.
A NEW VERSION OF SMBX IS PLANNED, AND IT WILL CONTAIN THE CODE ALLOWING USERS TO MANUALLY UPLOAD THEIR LEVELS TO THE FORUM.
THIS METHOD WILL BE USED TO OBTAIN THE PASSWORDS OF SEVERAL USERS, IN ORDER TO CREATE FURTHER DAMAGE.

IT IS ALSO BELIEVED THAT JOEY WILL USE THE NEW VERSION OF SMBX TO INSTALL MALWARE. HOWEVER, THERE IS LITTLE TO CONVINCE ME THAT
THIS IS TRUE.

Does anyone else remember this? It was posted by a clearly throwaway account. I thought it was pretty hilarious.
