The popular forum game that separates the good from the bad, the strong from the weak, and the loose-cannon cops from the slightly schizophrenic. That's all after we figure out who's who, of course.

M# - Sometimes Things Just Don't Go Your Way

20 Players - Cardflip

Godfather - A normal Mafioso who cardflips green. Each night, he decides along with the other Mafiosos who to kill.
Eavesdropper - Can PM the host each night with the name of one player. If that person PM'ed the host, that message is forwarded to the eavesdropper. Each night, he decides along with the other Mafiosos who to kill.
Sleepwalker - Visits a random person each night without performing any ability on them. Each night, he decides along with the other Mafiosos who to kill.

Sheriff - Can inspect one person each night to learn their color. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Doctor - Can save one person from dying each night. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Night Officer - Can choose one person each night. If that person visited anybody, or if anybody else visited that person, their identities are revealed to the Night Officer. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Doublevoter - His public lynch vote counts for two, unless he PMs the host a separate lynch vote during the day. In that case, he will have two separate lynch votes, one public and one anonymous. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
One-Shot Vigilante - Once during any phase, he can PM the host of the identity of somebody to kill. Instead of dying at the end of the phase, that person will instantly die. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Townsperson - No special abilities. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Townsperson - No special abilities. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Townsperson - No special abilities. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Townsperson - No special abilities.
Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Miller - Thinks he's a normal townsperson. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.
Millwright - Thinks he's a normal townsperson. Works with the town to get rid of the Mafia.

Serial Killer - Can kill one person each night. Works alone to kill off the town and the Mafia.
Jester - It's his goal to get lynched. If he gets lynched, the Serial Killer gets an extra kill the following night. Works alone to ensure that the Serial Killer wins.

Clarifications:
-Whoever PM's the host with the Mafia kill is the one the Night Officer will see on his inspection results.
-The Jester and Serial Killer do not have contact with each other.
-The One-Shot Vigilante only has one kill throughout the whole game, but he can use it during either night or day.

My best game to date according to Blue Bomber and Pseudo-dino, hopefully people vote for it for M9:

M9 - A Mystery Train to Nowhere

Capacity - 20

Cardflip
Semi-Mystery Game

This game has a slightly different ruleset from normal Mafia. The premise is that every player is on a train, and the Mafia has infiltrated the train. The train automatically arrives at the start of any given phase (in this case, the end of Day 8). When this phase is reached, the game ends.

This game would change around the Mystery Game mechanic to better suit creative players. Each player will receive a Role PM as usual, but the Role PM will have a variety of options if the player is chosen as a special role. There is a set number of Mafia, a set number of town, and a set number of third parties, but the player will be able to anonymously choose their role out of a set of possible choices. The game does not start until all players have decided on their role.

Therefore, here are the possible Role PMs:
x1 wrote:You are in the Mafia. You can choose to be the Assassin or the Godfather.

Assassin - Carries out the Mafia's dirty deeds each night.
Godfather - A normal Mafioso who cardflips green. However, this means that all three members of the Mafia visit the victim for the night, and therefore, if anybody else visits the victim, two members of the Mafia are revealed.

Your fellow Mafiosos are:
x2 wrote:You are in the Mafia. You can choose to be a Spy or a Roleblocker.

Spy - Can choose one person each night. If that person is visited or visits somebody, then he learns who they were, but not in any specific order.
Roleblocker - Can choose one person each night. Any potential actions performed by that person are blocked.
You fellow Mafiosos are:
x4 wrote:You are in the Town. You can choose to be either a Night Guard, the Conductor, a Detective, or a Doctor. There can only be one Conductor.

Night Guard - Can kill one person each night, but if that person was innocent (town-aligned), then the Night Guard loses his ability permanently.
Conductor - The boss of the train. He can choose to "stop" the train twice. Each time he stops the train, all players will be notified that the train has stopped moving. This delays the end of the game by ONE phase. There can only be one Conductor.
Detective - Can inspect one person each night to learn their color.
Doctor - Can save one person from dying each night.
x8 wrote:You are in the Town. You are a Passenger, who may be a Miller or Millwright.

Passenger - No special abilities.
Miller - Thinks he's a normal passenger.
Millwright - Thinks he's a normal passenger.
x2 wrote:You are in the Town. You are a Sleepwalker.

Sleepwalker - If anyone tries to nightkill him, it will backfire.
x3 wrote:You are a Hobo. It is your goal to prolong the game until the train arrives. If at least two of you survive, you will win at this point. You can choose to be either a Yellow Hobo or a Red Hobo.

Yellow Hobo - It is their goal to prolong the game until the train arrives at its destination. Is a third party. They know who the other hobos are.
Red Hobo - It is their goal to prolong the game until the train arrives at its destination. Is a third party. They know who the other hobos are.

I'm going to post this random game idea for M9, in a Halloween theme.
M9: The Haunted Town
25 Players - Cardflip and Ballot-box style (Players send their lynch vote to the host by PM)
Visiting is optional

Monsters
Werewolf: Can kill a player each night. Cardflips green if lynched, but red if inspected or killed.
Werewolf: Can kill a player each night. Cardflips green if lynched, but red if inspected or killed.
Vampire: Along with the rest of the Monsters, he decides who to kill each night.
Skeleton: If the Skeleton is nightkilled, the host will announce that the Skeleton has been killed, but actually, the Skeleton is still secretly alive. Can only be done once.
Zombie: If a member of the Town visits the Zombie, he will die (Unless it's the Sheriff). However, if a member of the Monsters visits him, he will know the identity of all of his teammates.
Spectre: If a member of The Monsters have been killed, the Spectre can revive him. Can only be done once.

Winning conditions: Their numbers must be equal to that of The Town, and The Demon must be killed.
Note: All of them know who the other members of the Monsters are, except for the Zombie, who only knows the identity of his teammates when he is visited by one of them.

Town
Sheriff: Can inspect a player each night, learning their color.
Ghost Hunter: Can visit a player at night and search their house for monsters, which allows him to know who visited that player at night.
Doublevoter: His lynch votes count as 2.
Slayer: Can kill a player each night. If he kills a member of the Town, he loses this ability for a night.
Mercenary: Each night, the Mercenary can visit a player and protect them from any attack which will cause that player to die.
Suspicious Villager: Thinks he is a normal Villager.
Lumberjack: Thinks he is a normal Villager.
Mysterious Person: Thinks he is a normal Villager
Informed Villager: Every day, they vote to get someone lynched. Knows who the Mercenary is.
Informed Villager: Every day, they vote to get someone lynched. Knows who the Mercenary is.

Villager: Every day, they vote to get someone lynched.
Villager: Every day, they vote to get someone lynched.
Winning conditions: All of the Monsters and The Demons must be killed or lynched.

The Demons
Necromancer: Can choose to "convert" a random player into a Worshipper. Has no effect on the Monsters, the Slayer, the Ghost Hunter, the Doublevoter, the Mercenary and the Sheriff. If the Demon is killed, the Necromancer turns into a Suspicious Villager.
Demon: The leader of The Demons, cardflips green when inspected or nightkilled, but grey when lynched. Has no special abilities for the first 3 nights, but after that, the Demon is able to kill a player every night. The Demon also has another special ability known to himself only...
Winning conditions: The number of Worshippers must be equal to the amount of Monsters, and the Sheriff must be killed.
Special notes: All Worshippers turn back into Villagers if the Demon is killed.

This game is oddly unbalanced. First off, 25 players is too much unless there are 5+ kills for every day/night cycle. Second off, 6 Mafiosos is way too much for a 25-player game. Lastly, some of the colors don't work too well, unfortunately. The Demon cardflipping uncolored upon lynching doesn't matter as there is no color-wiping role so everybody will know his identity anyway. The rest feels decent but not well thought-out in my opinion.

  • Changed the role of the Spectre.
  • Removed the Doublevoter, one of the Werewolves, the Skeleton, and a few Villagers.
  • Edited the winning conditions for The Demons and the Monsters.
I guess this should be slightly better now. This is my first idea, so i know it IS bad.

So guys, to build up popular opinion for hosting M9, which of the following games would you most likely vote for?
Option #1:
Spoiler: show
M9 - I Am Bad At Coming Up With Game Concepts

20 Players - Cardflip

Recruiter - Can "recruit" one person to the Mafia throughout the whole game. Can do this during either phase.
Secretary - Can send an anonymous message to a player through the host each night.
Maid - Is randomly assigned one person at the start of the game. If that person gets lynched, the Maid's identity will be revealed.

Officer - Can inspect people to learn their color.
Insane Officer - Can inspect people to learn their color. All cardflips will appear as opposite. Thinks he's the Officer.
Doctor - Can save one person from dying each night.
Secretary - Can send an anonymous message to a player through the host each night.
Judge - Can host a second lynching during the day with the consent of the Jurymen. Two of them must agree (unless there's only one left).
Juryman - Can contact the Judge to vote on his secondary lynches.
Juryman - Can contact the Judge to vote on his secondary lynches.
Juryman - Can contact the Judge to vote on his secondary lynches.
Townsperson - No special abilities.
Townsperson - No special abilities.

Townsperson - No special abilities.
Townsperson - No special abilities.

Signal Jammer - Can choose one person each night. At the start of the day, everything that person says will become gibberish. Has contact with the other third parties.
Puppeteer - Can select one person each night. If that person gets lynched, their full role will be revealed, rather than just their color. Has contact with the other third parties.
Poisoner - Can "poison" one person each night. If that person is lynched, their color will not be revealed. If they are not lynched, they will die at the end of the day of poison, but their color will be revealed.
Option #2:
Spoiler: show
M9 - Marfia

Capacity - 15 Players
Cardflip
Role Usage is Optional on Alternate Nights

Option #5:

Your fellow Hobos are:
So, which game would you guys like to see? I'm doing this so I know which game to submit for M9, so I need as many opinions as possible.

Why the hate towards Factions games?

Mafia 5: Fantasy is my Ectasy
Team Arachnids:
Eastern Magicion: Can paint any players color to his choosing once per every night.
Kamikaze Underling: Wants to get lynched. Will kill any person who got him lynched during the night.
Apoplexy Ogre: Will kill the first person to have voted for him to be lynched at night.

Team Cobras:
Morphing Miller: Has the ability to become any players role of his choosing for a night. He has three uses only.
Wise Wizard: Can read a players color. He will then know the color of that player. Paintings affect his results.
Northern King: His lynch votes count as two.

Team Lions:
Western Magician: Can swap the colors of any two players each night.
Honorable Knight: Can choose to kill any person per night. If he kills one of his own team members he dies, too.
Fearless Fairy: Can escape a night kill, but can only if he uses his ability. Has only three uses.

Team Wolverines:
Ancient Healer: Can heal any player he chooses if that player dies by night kill. Has only one self heal.
Goblin Swordsman: Can block any players ability for the night.
Southern King: If there already five or more votes for a certain player, then his vote will be the final one and get that player lynched. His ability is permanently nullified if there are only six players left including himself.

I'd play this, but tbh it doesn't seem all that fun compared to M3 for example. Maybe I just don't like fantasy idk

Yeah, those two should be flipped. Admins have more powers than moderators.

To be precise, admins are moderators but moderators are not admins. Also admins can actually manage board info, mods can only do user and post-bases stuff (depending on permissions)
